Very nice gun. I have shot maybe 40 rounds thru it. I have not benched shot the gun for accuracy. Changin my scope on it. It was a little heavier than expected but not all bad as she is a 35 Whelen. Trigger is very nice. Wanted a gun to break down and put in a pack. Keeps me under the radar. Fits the bill to a T. It should shoot sub moa at 100 yards.

My cheap elk rifle…..did throw a Boyd’s stock on it…. No negatives about the rifle…reminds me of a Thompson style

Great deer rifle, iowa has .349 to .500 regulation for hunting, 35 Whelan work great on the river bottom.

This rifle is very accurate. I shot a .581 inch group at 100 yards using Remington 250 grain Express PSP, and 1'' or better with several other factory ammo loads. The trigger breaks very crisply at 2.6 pounds and the rifle feels solid in general. I like this rifle so much I plan to buy another in 450 Bushmaster.

Great item and fast shipping

Bought this gun to replace a cva scout that is not a V2. Boyd’s does not make a forend for the original scout. Ordered a buttstock and forend as soon as I received the gun and checked the measurements with Boyd’s website. Gun shoots straight. I have made lung shots on 2 deer from 110 to 120 yards and both times the deer falls where it is standing and does not run. This will be my go to gun and cartridge from now on. When you receive the gun, take the ring base off and clean the cutting oil off the screws and out of the holes so the base does not get loose. Apply medium strength blue loctite to the screws, torque to 30 inch/pounds and enjoy.

I am very happy with the rifle. The trigger is excellent and the rifle is very balanced and shoulders well. Unfortunately I was only able to get my hands on a few rounds (180 gr Bergers) to sight the gun in. It shot very well, the recoil was mild with the break. I was happy with the performance so (tad over 1” groups). I’ll have my dies later this week and I can start the load development process. I am very happy with this him and would highly recommend it,

Great single shot that doesn't break the bank. Light crisp trigger, easy takedown. 16x1mm threaded barrel. Great shooter.

Simple and effective.
Mounted a scope and shot a few rounds so far. Have absolutely no complaints. Recoil is very manageable with muzzle brake.
It seems accurate enough and it will definitely hit hard.

Im impressed with the accuracy of this rifle. I put a Nikon prostaff p3 on it boresighted it. First shot from rifle bullseye at 25 yards. Couple shots later inch high at 100 shooting Hornady 200grain superformance. Recoil is not as bad as I thought it would be the muzzle brake seems to be effective. Recoil is no worse than my 30-06. Rifle is super easy to break down and clean. As alway happy with my buds purchase.

I drew a bear tag this year and plan to use this rifle short lite accurate lots of energy without the magnum recoil and wound overkill. That said I cleaned the oils from the barrel and chamber but not under the mount screws the blue lock tight didn’t hold so I took scope and base off and production oil was left in screw holes. The break action had a lot of oil on first cleaning but I didn’t think to clean out mounting screw holes so if you get this gun you know now. Thanks again Buds Guns for making my love of guns so easy to feed

It just absolutely kills me how everyone leaves reviews about Buds. Who really gives two craps about that? People want to if the firearm they may purchase is worth a crap. MY REVIEW IS ABOUT THE PRODUCT! I purchased the CVA Scout V2 in 35 Whelen and it is outstanding! I figured for $350 bucks this was going to be another Handi rifle and would shoot about the same. WELL HAVE I GOT NEWS FOR YOU. Rifle came in, put a nice Nikon scope on it, and worked up a load using Speer 250 grain Spitzer and IMR 4064 powder, and Federal 210 match primers. This rifle shot 3 rds in the same hole. Group was so tight I had to get up close and personal to make sure. Had to set OAL to 3.440 to get the best group. Velocity was 2554 fps thru my chrono. I am so pleased with this rifle. The Trigger is outstanding. Not as good as the Jewel trigger on my 700, but very crisp. As far as Buds is concerned, their okay. Since they started tacking on tax, fees, and pay retail for layaway, I'm not as impressed as I once was. They do ship promptly though. Going to order a CVA Scout in Creedmoor next. The heck with paying big bucks when this CVA will do the same thing for a 3rd of the price.

This is a great looking gun have not shot it but am sure it will work great. Buds is a great place to buy but the pictures of gun is not as you get scope rail only on it not with scope mount

I have bought from Buds several times, already, so I am not new to dealing with them. The process is always easy and I have never had any issues except for this purchase. I truly like this gun and it is why I purchased it. My issue was that Bud's shows it with the scope rings, and when I got it it did not have rings. I paid $20 dollars more on Bud's because of the reason it was to have the rings, already on it. I Live chatted with a service rep at Bud's asking about the rings, The reply was that Bud's never opens new boxes that are shipped to customers, and I should call the maker of the rifle and even gave me the number to call them. As it was a Saturday, they were not open for calls. I called on Monday afternoon and their service rep was very nice. I explained where I purchased the rifle and about the rings being missing. The rep explained to me, that they stopped including the rings, over a year ago, but was so nice about it, that he took my info and shipped me rings at no cost. The rings arrived to me that Friday, I was quite pleased. My only complaint is Bud's needs to update the info on there site, as recently I have found product descriptions with missing information and outdated information. Bud's really needs to take charge and get things updated, so there are no such issues going forward. Just to be clear, I did read reviews before my purchase and 1 other guy complained of the rings being missing and was not happy for that, and he said he just bought rings and left it at that, apparently he never contacted the home company where the rifle came from? Not that rings are expensive or difficult to get, but such information can be helpful to others. Bud's needs to overhaul and update their online information and also seems many products show out of stock for months and months and months, and you put in the notify when available,, as I have done on a few other interests and since have had no replies about them. If they won't get resupplied or if product will no longer be available,, someone at Bud's should be replying to these notifications. I have no doubt I will buy more from Bud's in the future, But I wish that the online info was brought to current and correct standings.
