Very happy with Buds and Henry. First time online firearm purchase went smooth and fast. The Henry H011c is a work of art. Wood is spectacular with great figure. Front sight blade was missing but I still excepted the transfer because it is hard to find the rifle and my experience with Henry customer service. I emailed Henry about the missing sight blade and they had in the mail right away even though it was the holidays. Henry and Buds are the best.

I purchased the Henry Rifle. The packaging and delivery went very smoothly. The Rifle is absolutely beautiful. Been wanting one for years. Was going to get the 44-40 but ammo just too high so I went with the 45 Colt. Right now this is where she rest. Haven’t had a chance to fire it yet due to Surgery. But looking forward to the day I do. Dealing with Buds has been Awesome.

This henry is the most outstanding rifle henry makes. If you want to get attention at the range pull this beauty out of your bag.

Love this rifle, always wanted one and Buds was able to deliver, though delivery was longer than I had hoped. However Buds was easy to use as always and informed me of all updates.

I have several Henry lever guns and this one is no different, their materials and workmanship is unbelievable. There actions are so smooth and function flawlessly. This Henry Original is the best in my opinion, well worth the purchase. The two best things are the smell of freshly burnt gun powder from a Henry!!

This was a long time want for me sense I was a kid watching old westerns! The gun came in prefect condition. It was well protected in the original packaging. Wood and brass receiver was wrapped extra to protect even more. The price From Bud's Gun Shop was a great price and good shipping. Thanks BGS!!!

First of all, service from Bud's was great, I had my rifle within a week of order. As to the rifle, it is simply gorgeous. Fit & finish was flawless, the bluing is deep and dark and the brass was smooth & shiny. Best of all is the wood stock, black walnut with great character. When it arrived at my FFl they called me and said the most beautiful rifle they had ever seen arrived with my name on it. I don't buy safe queens, so I went to the range and put 75 rounds through it. The action was smooth as silk. With just a minor drift of the rear sight all rounds were within the 9 ring at 50 yards. I'm sure the rifle can do better, but my eyes not so much. I was very happy with the accuracy. I shot several different types of ammo and only had one jam (with Hornady FTX LeverRevolution). My Henry's (as well as some other lever rifles) just don't like that particular round. With all other ammo the rifle functioned flawlessly and smoothly. By the end of my range session I was easily manipulating the rather unusual loading mechanism which the Henry is known for. With weenie cowboy loads there is virtually no recoil, it's like shooting a .22. My favorite load in 45Colt is the Buffalo Bore 255 grain hard cast Keith bullet, which is a hot, but standard pressure load. Recoil with the BB round was noticeably sharper, but still easily manageable. The rifle liked the BB best, shooting a ragged 2" hole that split the 10 and 9 ring at 50 yards. With the right ammo, this rifle could take up to deer size game at iron sight distance with no problem at all. I have to point out that when I was at the range, amid all the matte black and polymer, this rifle shined like a diamond. Numerous people stopped to ask me about it and all commented on how beautiful it was. In summary, this is a gorgeous rifle and a ton of fun to shoot. It would look great over the fireplace but, in my opinion, shouldn't be just a wallhanger. This is a serious weapon that is very capable, and, as I said previously, so much fun to shoot. If you buy one, do yourself a favor and watch the excellent DVD that comes with the rifle. It shows, in nice detail, everything from loading/unloading techniques to disassembly, cleaning and lubrication. My hat is off to Henry, they have brought a piece of history back to life and it's all made in America. Yeah its expensive, but you get what you pay for.

To start, Bud's had the best price anywhere for these, and great shipping. I ordered it two days before Christmas and it arrived the day after Christmas. Now for the rifle: It's expensive, yes, but you see why when you get up close. The fit and finish is perfect; deep, rich blue like the old S & W and Colt revolvers, precise fit on all components (the barrel and mag tube is one piece machined from the same hunk of steel), smooth action. The walnut stock is very high grade. I don't know if I you could get one with better grain even if you were willing to pay more. Ran about 80 rounds of Fiocchi 200 gr Cowboy through it initially, no issues (except lots of interruptions and chatting with the other shooters on the range who had to come see it!). Accuracy is very good, recoil is barely noticeable with the weight. The only minor complaint I have is one that others have mentioned, which is a trigger that is a bit stiffer than what you might expect on a rifle of such high grade. Not bad enough to knock off a star, just noticeable. The DVD is very handy, shows you how to tear it down to the last screw if needed (which is not often, if at all). I chose the 45 Colt version because I plan on firing it often. Ammo cost, availability, ease of reloading, and compatibility with a wider range of handguns drove my preference over the 44-40 versions. One note on the ad; it says it's color case hardened like the Iron Original, but it's not. The 45 Colt version is brass like in the photo. This is an heirloom/investment quality arm, yet made for use. Buy one. You won't regret it.

I called Bud’s customer service before ordering to verify the gun was An 1860 original Henry design rifle as shown on the web site. I ordered the rifle and it arrived at my FFL dealer about a week later. The rifle was in perfect condition. Fit and finish on this rifle are some of the best materials, fit and finish I have ever seen. Action is the smoothest I have seen in a lever action rifle. You even get a DVD that shows you step by step how to disassemble and reassemble the rifle so if something gets a out of allignment you can take it apart and readjust the rifle without having to send it back for repair. I would say this is the best made, with the best fit and finish of any lever action I have ever seen and I have had many lever action rifles in my 75 years. Beautiful rifle. The guy running my outdoor shooting range said it was to pretty to shoot. I told him I bought it to shoot and to experience what the poor Confederate soldiers experienced when they went up against the rifle during our civil war.

I bought this Henry Original 1860 as a shooter not a safe queen, and I love it! I got the .45 Colt version since I'm already shooting that caliber and set up to reload it. This is a gorgeous piece of history, but made with modern steel. The fit and finish of the rifle is wonderful, and the furniture is beautiful. The accents of the bright yellow brass really sets it off against the Walnut stock. It came well packaged, and the brass butt plate protected by a velour sock. Everyone who sees it oohs and ahhs over it. Obviously, concessions had to be made for using .45 Colt or .44-40 WCF cartridges vs the original .44-40 Henry rimfire, but other than that, it's a pretty faithful reproduction. To top it off, it's "Made in the USA" by Henry Repeating Arms. I've already taken it to the range, and it fires and functions like a dream. I fired some different types of cartridges and it functioned fine. I did have to seat my cast 255 grain Keith's SWC a little deeper than the normal crimp groove otherwise it's too long and won't feed into the elevator. Henry recommends only using SAAMI spec ammo in this rifle. Based on that recommendation, I definitely would not use high pressure loads (i.e. +P, Ruger/Contender only loads) in this rifle. It grouped very well at 50 yds (_2" group with my old eyes and iron sights,) and I'm sure it'll do even better once I work up a good load for it. My only complaint is the trigger pull is very hard (in the 6-8 pound range.) Henry says the factory default is 5-6 pounds, but it sure feels heavier. I'm pretty sure it's still tight from being brand new, and shooting it more will help loosen it up (which I'm more than happy to do.) It doesn't take long to get used to a few peculiarities of the rifle like putting the rifle at a slight angle to load so the cartridges slide gently down the tube, easing the follower down after loading, and feeling for the follower touching your supporting hand. It is a joy to shoot, and I can now understand why the Confederates called it "that damned Yankee rifle you load on Sunday and shoot all week."

First time ordering from Buds. Showed up in about 4 days. Rifle was in great shape. Ran a bore snake thru it and took it to the range. 50 rounds went without any issues. Fit and finish is great. Action is smooth. You can keep that mirror finish on the brass with a little elbow grease.
