Excellent quality, extremly accurate and very little recoil. This handgun should last me a lifetime. Bud's service was fast and great as always. FN does have a rebate going on right now also, a sweet add on to Bud's lower price.

Works good, no misfires. It’s accuracy is sort of still out for verdict. I’ve had difficulty with its consistency of grouping. I like the sites and the checkered grip. The point of AIM and point of impact seems touchy. It seems to shoot a little low, but adjust your aim just Slightly higher and point of impact goes high and misses target entirely. I’m still dialing it in.

I bought the 509 in place of a Glock 19 and I couldn't be happier with it. The sights are great and the trigger is smooth. Pair it with some hot loaded Cor-bon or Underwood ammo and it is a concealed carrier's dream. Buds had a great price and the shipping was super fast.

When you buy FN you buy quality. Out of the box this is an incredibly accurate pistol. Other manufacturers you may have to float sights - I have never had to do this with an FN. I have several FN pistols in various calibers and frame sizes - they never disappoint.

The FN 509 is really well built. Its fits great in my hand and shoots pretty good. The trigger is the only con i have about the 509. Its a bit spongy but it works well for what im using it for. I would recommend the FN 509.

Ordered the handgun on Tuesday the 16th of March, and I picked it up on Friday the 19th. The firearm was in great condition, everything I expected. Great service from buds. Definitely will do business again with buds.

After a few hundred rounds I have no complaints about the functioning ability of the 509. It has proven to be reliable with 3 different grains of ammo; 115 grain, 124 grain, as well as 135 grain. Overall it’s a great gun. However, I added Talon grips as well as a Apex trigger kit due to my personal preference in trigger pull weight. Everything arrived in top shape from buds as usual; and within a speedy time frame.

Was not sure when I first purchased this gun. Was really hoping it was better than its brother the FNS. After several hundred rounds, I have decided it was a very wise purchase. Very accurate, easy to conceal, and absolutely no issues. Love the gun. A+. Thank you Buds for the encouragement to purchase.

I like this gun but find the grip is a little rough compared to the other guns I have. I find it shoots a little low and left. Other than this I have had no problems.

Can't say enough about the FN509. Smooth & fires every time, no matter the load. Simple take down & fits my hand quite well.

Nice firearm, but like many it needs to be broken in, or at least the recoil spring does. With 115 gr standard loads the recoil is not strong enough to feed the next round, so the magazine must be dropped and the jam cleared. These normal loads won't engage the slide lock back after the last round either. Even Freedom 135 grains would not cycle consistently. Magtec +P+ rounds cycle from the beginning just fine. After about 100 rounds, and leaving the slide locked back in storage the recoil spring is loosening up and function is flawless. A good shooter and sights seem to be right on. A good deal from Buds and once broken in a quality firearm that is a joy to shoot at the range.

Shot 300 rounds of 3 different types of fmj and did not have any issues. Recoil is very soft on the hand. The grip is incredible and unbelievably comfortable. Very accurate. Once you hold this gun in your hand you will wonder why and ask how in the heck sig beat out fn for that military contract. Politics if you ask me, but this was the second choice behind sig for the military. Has a beautiful finish and you can see the quality that separates fn from all the others. This gun will be legendary.

This came quickly and in good shape. I have it all cleaned, lubed and range ready. It feels good in the hand, and I can't wait to get out to the range with it. Initial impression is that it is well built, feels sturdy, definitely a duty pistol.

Doing this review a little early since I did get one local. Shot 500 rounds or so and I liked it enough to order a second through Bud's my go to gun shop. So far the more I shoot it the more it grows on me, it's not a gun that will blow your mind but it is a very solid shooter. The trigger in my book is good, if you have shot mostly glocks this will feel better to you. Grip is excellent very comfortable and points good. Sights are metal and high visibility which is one thing I really like so I don't have to run out to get different sights. Recoil is soft to me and helps the sights pop back on target. Slide serrations are the best I have felt and blows glock out of the water. Only negative which a side effect of being ambi, the magazine release could bother some in that it takes more deliberate push of the thumb to eject the mag (CZ P10c are having similar comments) and on the ambi side the other button releases the mag better like you would expect both to do. Since my thumb is not long enough and I did shoot HKs for a short bit it was a none issue for me to use my trigger finger like a lefty to push the mag release on the ambi side of the gun. To end this initial impressions review I think of the new releases that have come out my vote goes to the FN 509.
