Literally had this for over two years before I got around to shooting it. Really like the bull barrel, nice big hunk of steel with plenty of material. Recently shot two clips (16 rounds total) of my own reloads. Once I stopped trying to 3-dot my sight picture and put the target right on top the front sight post, it was right on from the factory at 25 yards. This is my first 1911 style handgun, so I don't know how it compares. Seems pretty decent in finish and construction though. Research tells me that sight dovetail dimensions vary widely with 1911 guns, and nobody seems to know if there are any 3-dot sets readily available for this gun. Really wish Ruger had included some sort of case with it. Mine came in a cardboard box, so I had to go buy a case for it. Overall, good. No misfeeds or jams. 165 grain Zero hollowpoints with 10 grains Power Pistol and Federal LP primers. Another 8 rounds identical, except 165 grain Rainier plated hollowpoints. All shot well.

I've wanted a 10mm for years and this Ruger didn't disappoint. I've only shot target loads so far but no issues feeding. It's a really fun pistol.

This is my first 1911 but not my first Ruger ... Also my first 10 mm. The quality of this firearm is 100% tight smooth action 200 + rounds and not one failure to feed, extract etc . Flawless shoots like a dream low recoil even with heavier loads. It’s so fun to shoot. Hopefully 10 mm becomes more and more popular so the price of ammo comes down. I plan to reload my own so I can shoot it more. I would recommend this sweet shootin’ gun to anyone. Thank you Buds for great fast service 👍🇺🇸

The SR1911 10mm shoots great and I am very happy with this purchase. Bud’s did match the price of a different web sight which made me happy. I’ve purchased from Bud’s before and I like to keep my business with them since they’ve always delivered stellar service. They did use every day of their guarantee which I’m not used to. Every purchase I made before they shipped immediately so this time it seemed as though I had to wait an eternity. They did deliver as they promised so no complaint, I was impatient like a kid waiting for Christmas.

Ruger did it again another great pistol. The trigger is great, adjustable sights are too. Total reliability with both factory and reloads ran through if without a hitch. Eats hollow points, ball and lead ball no problem. I always wanted a 1911 in 10 mm and Ruger put this fantastic pistol in my reach.

Judging by the other reviews, I'm not sure if I got a lesser quality controlled firearm or if I just have a lot more headway to make on the break-in. When I got it, the first thing I did was strip it down and clean it. My first time out with it, I ran around 50-60 rounds of 180 gr fmj brass cased ammunition through it. I would have ran more but the slide basically seized on the last couple of rounds and I had to use a lot of force to move the slide at all. I took it home and was afraid something was badly damaged inside. Managed to get it apart. Everything looked fine. Cleaned it down well, reoiled it, back in action, though slide operation still felt a little rough. Took it out again (last time I shot it as of writing this). Fired around 30 rounds of the same. Ran fine until the last couple of shots and started seizing up again. I took it down at the range, gave it a quick cleaning focused mainly around the slide rails with a brass brush to knock off any metal material. Wiped it all down, oiled it up, put it back together. Ran fine for another 20-30 rounds and then seized up again. I just took it back home at that point. Ive cleaned it again and have the slide back moving freely, but still doesnt feel as smooth as it should. I really like the gun. I believe Ruger makes quality firearms. Thats why I still gave it 4 stars. It's my first 10mm and my first 1911 and I have discovered that I enjoy both quite a bit. But I don't know why I seem to be having such a time with it compared to everyone else. I havent tried changing ammo yet but have considered doing so for my next time shooting to see if that makes any difference.

Impressive so far, but I’ve been having some problems with jamming on the magazine fade.

Absolutely beautiful 10mm 1911. Fit and finish is excellent. The pistol has been 100% reliable.

Am a returning customer and have been very pleased with Buds prices and fast service, The Ruger 10mm is an excellent choice for both hunting and target shooting, Well built and very accurate, fits my grip perfectly and looks like a much more expensive gun. Have many Ruger products and like all. I have recommend Buds to other friends and will recommend Ruger every time.

This is a great 1911 10mm pistol. Has all the features you want but seems a little loose for a great 1911 build

As usual Buds was easy and fast. The ruger is a fair piece for the price. 400 rds- 200of the Sig 180 gr and 200 of the Underwood 155 gr-no problems so far. Front sight not so good for older eyes,but that’s just me, replaced with Dawson fiber optics. Internal ignition parts are very rough, needed to be stoned and polished to be serviceable. All to be expected at this price

If you like the Colt Delta Elite, you will like this. This gun is every bit as high in quality and for a lower price. I love the rubberized grips and the bull barrel. The necessity of using the wire tool to hold the tension in the recoil spring isn't that big a deal to me, because I'd rather do that than have to fidget with the bushing, which this gun does not utilize. Speaking of the bull barrel, I'm not sure if it is because of it, but when I shot this gun, I was surprised by softness of the recoil and how easy it was to stay on target. I was using full house, 200g hard cast lead Underwood hunting ammo, too. My only gripe is with the front sight. I would have liked to have a more visible front sight. I guess that's a sacrifice Ruger had to make for the price point.

Love this Ruger SR1911 in 10mm, it's a great gun to shoot definitely has some recoil but manageable. I have several Ruger's 3 1911s and the GP100 MC the SP101 in 357/38 with 2.5" barrel the SP 101 in 327 Federal with a 4' barrel and coming from Bud's the SP101 357/38 in 3' barrel, as well as the Red Hawk 45 Colt/ACP. These are very well built guns and some of my favorites. The 1911 is a well balanced gun with the 5' barrel comes with 2 magazines from factory and has nice black rubbery grips. I changed them for a pair of black iron wood grips with Ruger logo from Ruger. Bud's make the buying so easy, I love the 90 day layaway plan being retired and on a fixed income it makes it so much more manageable for me. It also allows me the convince of paying part on credit card and part in cash. Bud's always has the hard to find gun s as well and I love the wish list which notify's me when the gun I want is back in stock. I love shopping at Buds he has changed the game in purchasing firearms....KCK

Ruger SR1911 10mm I ordered my Ruger late on Friday night and had in my hand by the following Wednesday. This was the first gun I have purchased on-line and all went well. Condition at pick up was fine. Fit and finish look great. I have put 50 rounds of Armscor through it so far with no malfunctions. I will be ordering from Buds again for sure. Oh, I also ordered 10mm Armscor ammo from Buds on Monday and it was on my door step when I walked up to my house that Wednesday after picking up my SR1911!

Transaction with Buds was flawless as usual the gun shoots great It has a very good trigger pull nice and smooth my only complaint is it came in a cardboard box you would think Ruger would have it in a nicer case

The pistol was at my FFL 48 hrs after I ordered it - really fast shipment for this one. I own a bunch of 1911's and this one is by far the most accurate one. I believe it is because of the bull barrel. I was able to shoot 1 inch groups at 9 yards. I was really impressed with it. If they ever make a version with night sights, I wouldn't hesitate in buying it and carrying it. I shot 150 rounds so far and no issues with 180 or 165 grain ammo.

As usual, another quality product from Ruger. Flawless craftmanship and a great shooter. Buds Gun shop is where it's at and can't wait to order my next Ruger from them. Great prices too.

What a solid piece of machinery. Very accurate. Waiting on my Galco holster so I can carry this bad boy with 2 extra mags. Very satisfied.

Received the gun and inspected it at home. I normaly would buy this type of gun in a Wilson Combat, Nighthawk or a Sig. But just had to try my first Ruger 1911 in 10 mm. For a third of what I would have paid for a custom gun. I was extremely surprise how well the gun is put together and especially the bull barrel which locks up the barrel extremely tight to the slide. I did have a bit of a Creep in the trigger, but took the trigger out and polished the break in 5 minutes and eliminated the creep. Lighten up the sear spring to the trigger and now the trigger breaks at just under 4 lbs. For under $800, you will just Not find a better 10 mm in 1911 Anywhere. If you have a chance to get this gun. Buy it !!!

I purchased this from Bud's last month. Regrettably, I have not had the opportunity to shoot it yet. Based on inspection alone though, I suspect this is going to be a keeper! The slide to frame fit is excellent and I love the target sights. Honestly, this gun is what the Colt Delta Elite should have been. And it has a much better price tag to boot!
