I've got a few Remington long guns, and while they make a decent rifle/shotgun, they aren't spectacular in any way. I have to admit, I bought this Rem 700 sps in 7mm-08 for my 12 year old son, and am very impressed in the smoothness of the action, tight tolerances of the bolt, very comfortable stock design, and great adjustable fit for my son. He's a lefty, so finding a left handed youth model was difficult. He likes the rilfle a lot, and so do I. It is very accurate, and with a nice 3-9x40 scope on it, it will make a great first hunting rifle for him. Can't beat it for the price. I'm really impressed by the 7mm-08 caliber and am glad that more manufacturers are making rifles in it. It's a necked down .308 shooting a nice 140 gr. 7mm bullet. Remington makes the Managed Recoil rounds, which are easy on him at the range and still will knock down a decent deer at 200 yards. Flat shooting, light recoil, and good energy for medium game hunting. I love to shoot it myself. Bud's made the transaction super easy. I was shocked at how smooth that transaction went, especially since I live in a difficult state to transfer firearms. The rifle arrived in about a week to my local FFL for me to sign the DROS paperwork. I will pretty much buy all my guns from them from now on, because of their fantastic prices and easy purchasing process.
