  • Brian, Taurus classifies the G2C's action as Action: Semi-automatic/striker-fired (DAO). Operation of the G2C is straightforward, thanks to a striker-fire, double-action trigger system that includes restrike capability.

  • its a striker fired gun which is not really a sing or a double action but somewhere in between Taurus uses a striker that must be fully retracted by action of the trigger

  • Taurus uses a striker that must be fully retracted by action of the trigger. This means the pistol is completely "safe" when chambered, trigger forward because the striker is not retracted at all, and is also blocked by an internal release. The long, somewhat heavy, double-action trigger pull is basically like a revolver, and much "safer" for the average person to carry since one need not worry about a short-take-up, 5.5 pound trigger being unintentionally "caressed" by an errant finger causing a negligent discharge!
