Needed a good plinker type firearm and after research this was the most recommended. After feeding about 500 rounds through this on its first range trip, I can say this was a great purchase hands down. It feels great in the hand with the 45-degree 1911 style frame and rubberized grip. I can't say enough with how comfortable this firearm feels while holding it. With the little recoil it produces, your hands never tire. Accuracy was excellent out of the case. No issues with hitting where I was aiming or some tight grouping, but this firearm is just screaming to have a red dot optic added. They are really built for adding one and I plan to get one on this in the near future. Need to get used to not pulling back on a slide but more a 'bolt' when racking. Overall this was hands down an excellent purchase. The durability and look is what I expect from Ruger and they did not disappoint. From loading to cleaning, this has been reliable and will be a staple in my range visits to come.

This is a very quality firearm. It is great right out of the box but being an Ole timer I had to tweek a couple of things that I believe Ruger should do at the factory being the magazine release and slide release. I have between 35k-40k rounds through this bad boy. Still going strong. This thing is ridiculously fun to plink with suppressed. Pros: Super reliable Lots of aftermarket accessories Its very accurate.(using CCI SV rings 6in steel plates at 100 yards with practice) Likes a red dot(pairs well with Holosun507c) Upper is easy to clean/disassemble(clean at least every 1000 rounds to prevent soft strike issues) Will run any 22lr ammo aside from the really slow stuff <750fps Finish is great.(bluing on bolt is about halfway worn off but again we are talking 40k rnds) Cheap to shoot. Add a can and its as quiet as your gamo pellet rifle. Making it perfect and less likely to scare new shooters off. Cons: When you finally have to clean the lower its a nightmare to disassemble/reassemble. Took me a few hours the first time to get it back together. Still takes me an hour or more. Lots of small parts that have to go in a specific order. The trigger could be better. Its not bad but I would rather pay another $100-150 for a better trigger. Magazines are ok. The springs tend to wear out after a while. The top rail kept coming lose and my red dot would wiggle so I would be all over the place. I corrected this with some loctite. By far the best 22 pistol you can buy. Iv had majority of them and all I can say is this one is the best. The 22/45 just goes and goes and its accurate enough to shoot empty 22lr shells at 20 yards. If your debating and want a 22lr pistol this is what you need. Would I purchase again? Absolutely. Looking for another as I love it so much.

This is a great little gun. I have put many rounds through it without any issues. I have put custom parts on it and had a lot of fun with it.

I got this for my wife as a range gun. I put a vortex red dot on it and it is very accurate and fun. She loves target shooting and after shooting her .380 CCW and xfive legion which cause some wrist and elbow strain, she really likes to get in another 20-30 mins with this .22 as it has almost no recoil.
