Mossberg MVP Overview

In 2011, Mossberg Firearms introduced a new version of its bolt action 4×4™ rifle named the MVP Varmint. The MVP Varmint does have a unique build and some really advantageous features. the gun is using AR-15 magazines. Sure, there are always those who want to claim that they see potential problems, or that the market didn’t need another participant in this arena, but they were wrong. In the year 2012, Mossberg up the ante by adding a “P” version to the MVP line. The P stands for “Predator” and it is just that. It’s designed for hunting animals like bobcats, fox, and coyote. Properly fitted with a good scope, kill shots at 400 yard are doable all day long.

And the MVP can turn out teams like this all day long.

The MVP and MVP/R have a lot going for them. If I was hunting prairie dogs and shooting one round after the other, I’d take the 24 inch fluted barrel to help lessen weight and heat retention. The other barrels would be great for anything else. Fluted barrels and bolts just make the MVP look intimidating. When you add the to the laminated stock, a AR 10 round magazine, and a bipod, all this rifle needs an inscription that reads, “BE FOREWARNED, I’M MEAN AND NASTY WHEN IT COMES TO ELIMINATING OPPONENTS”
