If you were to say that real shooter’s are made not born, you might get some that would disagree. I’ve shot some steel silhouettes at 6-7-800 yards before, and it takes lots of practice. You can review the military specs on a .308, and memorize them to your heart’s content, but until you lay prone with a harris bipod, and look down a good quality mil dot scope, do you realize that you’re trying to “thread a needle with gloves on”. Still there is something about shooting at that range, that is more addictive than Sunday football on TV. To squeeze off a round, raise up over the scope, remove your muffs and hear that “ping”; there’s nothing like it!
Savage has a reputation for super accurate rifles that ping. You can credit it to the barrel, or the trigger, or the stock, you might even credit the ammunition, but you always have to honor the shooter. The Savage 10, 10T, and 10FCP SR, are all rifles built on the now famed 110 action. The results with a 10T were nothing short of phenomenal. Groups that consistently measured well under an inch were not the exception, but were the rule. This .308 delivered and destroyed. The 10FCP SR is called the $1000/1000 yard rifle, because it is just that…….lethal at 1000 yards.

People who know and get paid to do the job by the body count, can’t say enough about the Savage 10, 10T, and 10FCP SR. In a 5 star rating system, they gave it 4.5 across the board. Few, if any rifles, have fared better when reviewed by the “long range wizards”. Sure you can spend more…….lots more, but to do so and end up with any edge at all, would be minimal at best.
In the world of long guns, there’s plenty of “renegades”......but there’s only one Savage!
