Sig Sauer P320 Overview

The SIG Sauer P320 is a striker fired, semi-automatic pistol, produced by J.P. Sauer & Sohn, and SIG Sauer of Exeter, New Hampshire. This pistol can be ordered in a wide variety of calibers, .380, .357 SIG, .40 S&W, .45 ACP, and 9×19mm. New in 2014, the P320 is available in four different sizes, Full, Carry, Compact, and Subcompact. All of the models may not be on the market just yet, but they certainly are close. Just like other SIG Sauer family handgun, the P320 pistol is a short recoil managed, locked breech pistol. It uses the standard SIG Sauer cam-operated barrel system.



The main features of SIG Sauer P320 is its modular style. Inside its polymer frame sits the main component of the P320. The functioning guts of the P320, consists of an internal stainless steel frame fire control unit which are made from the incorporated fire control group (trigger, and all necessary linkage and springs). The slide release is an ambidextrous configuration, and there are no external safeties. The SIG Sauer P320 utilizes automated firing pin safety to guarantee safe use of the weapon, all the while hindering accidental discharges, should the pistol be dropped or roughly handled.The 4 rail construction insures ease of operation during chambering cycles and promotes a solid lock down for accuracy.
