I find it truly indicative of the direction in which society is moving, when every manufacturer has to target the “Concealed Carry” market with virtually every gun. Well, it is what it is, and I’d rather have it and not need it, as need it and not have it. Smith & Wesson has always been one of the frontrunners in innovation, whether for military, police, or civilian firearms. The M&P in this line of pistols stands for military and police, and though that maybe said, this model is very popular with civilians also. First introduced in 2012, the M&P Shield found an immediate home with the public. This little subcompact, DAO, semi-automatic, self loading pistol is a dream come true. It features a polymer lower frame, with a short recoil operated, locked breech cycling system. The trigger is virtually a Glock trigger made over, including the improved trigger with positive reset. This allows this little jewel of a gun to reset the trigger in about half the distance of other weapons.
