Christopher, this is not a shield. It appears Stephen owns both this and the shield and in his review mixed up pistols. This is a M&P M2.0 Compact 3.6" with manual thumb safety and two 15rd magazines. If you Google the model number ( 11694 S&W ) you can find more information/pictures. Movindy, this is a compact gun. There is no established definition for what makes a pistol a compact or subcompact. Handgun manufacturers decide which of their models are compact or subcompact. Compact You can check out any gun by its model or SKU number to find what model it actually is. https://www.smith-wesson.com/product/mp-m20-compact The numbers may be off from their site so this gun might be a newer or older model as the 1st 3 digits or 116 are what designates SW 2.0 compacts same gun though. You may want to ask SW 1st. To know which is the newest model. Stay Safe!

Compact, S&W delineates models by the size of the grip frame not barrel length. There are compact models in 3.6", 4", and 4.625" barrels.

Looking for something lighter than my Beretta 92fs..

David, this has a unloaded weight of 25.9 Oz's, or 1.619 pounds. I agree with Christopher about the sig p365 xl. I own a 365xl and it quickly became my every day Carry. It's small enough to conceal but big enough to get a good grip on it. Hope this helps and good luck with your choice.

Yes but you'd need to either get the slide milled, or get a dovetail optic mount (which i don't recommend) dovetail mounts are not as durable or secure. Slide milling is a much better option. I would have the work done by John at Maple leaf arms in Houston Texas. I've been in contact with him about getting my MP Milled, just been busy trying to keep my head above water. Morris, it does have a manual thumb safety, verified on the S&W web site. The pistol includes an aggressively-textured grip and four interchangeable palmswell inserts for optimal hand-fit and trigger reach. Includes two magazines, a limited lifetime warranty and a lifetime service policy.

Comes with the S&W case (which appears to be the S&W Factory cardboard box since November 2018) , 2 mags, manual, registration, lock, chamber flag and four different grip inserts to allow you to customize the grip to your preference. Pretty nice package!

This S&W 9 m2.0 Compact 9mm is an outstanding weapon EDC pistol. The size is perfect for full grip yet compact enough and light enough to carry all day in appendix side. For less cost you have a quality handgun which you can depend on and well known brand. Highly recommend it.

I purchased this gun for my wife for her birthday as she wanted a 9mm S&M M&P, which I have but not the compact version because she has a hard time getting the slide back on mine and mine does have a safety, which is a downfall of mine. This compact is a perfect size and she's able to use the slide much easier and it's lighter than mine as well. We also wanted matching handguns to be able to share ammo, which this does. The gun came very timely and looks just like the image on the website. If you're looking for a nice compact 9mm I would highly suggest this one!

slow cycling to chamber a round hung up on the extractor when new but firing the pistol it never skipped a beat. it feels great in my hand. sights pull up naturally and it shoots well. much more than I had anticipated. this is my second of the M&P 2.0 series the 3.6" sub-compact being the first. choosing what will be the next one is the only problem did I mention how good it feels in your hand.
