I wanted a mechanical small inexpensive locking handgun box preferably with a combination lock. After looking at the Hornady alpha reinforced and double locking bars I was sold. The box with a barrel key and feels very secure when locked. I can fit a Beretta 92x with red dot installed and a Walther pps , with no room extra mag. With one in the box I have room gun, extra mags and som ammo. The locking cable is heavy duty and makes it easy to secure the box to solid anchor point. I store the box in a medium size camera bag , which has room for additional supplies. And also makes what is the bag look inconspicuous . I will buying a few more of these to keep in each vehicle. Being able to buy multiple boxes with same key would be a plus The con to a heavy duty steel box with a key locks that it is heavier then a light duty composite box. And lock changing would be difficult.
