If you are concerned about this being an entry level rifle, don't be. This rifle was well thought out, and well made. The action is very smooth, great trigger, beautiful stock, and a great shooter. Smooth shooting with an absence of recoil. Not to mention, it's a great looking gun. It's weight is due to the heavy barrel, and laminate stock, but shooting it is pleasurable. I use a Caldwell XLA bi-pod on it, with a Vortex Crossfire 4-12x44 scope with Warne rings. Lights out! Highly recommend this rifle for the money. And as usual, appreciate Bud's quick shipping and service.

So happy with my purchase, one of the best bolts I ever shut, Premium quality and finishing, it shoot and feels a lot more expensive than what it is and the accuracy was amazing, recieved in a perfect condition and very fast shipping thanks remington thanks buds.

  • Q: Is this rifle rated for 7.62 NATO, too; or, just .308 Win?

    Believe it or not, it is more dangerous to fire commercial .308 ammo in a rifle chambered for NATO 7.62x51 than the other way around. The reason is the spec'd for the .308 is 62,000 PSI were as the NATO round is spec'd for 50,000 CUP (approximately 58,000 PSI). NATO head space specs are slightly larger than the .308 and the .308 brass is thinner than the NATO round. Consequently the 308 cartridge will stretch more in a NATO chambered rifle. So, bottom line is it looks like you can safely shoot a NATA 7.62 in a rifle chambered for a .308.
