  Rick, my wife is 120lbs and have no issues with this subcompact or Taurus G2C. Just stick with standard 115 to 124 grain ammunition and she should be fine. I recommend going to a dealer with shooting range that rents firearms and letting her shoot a few models for a better idea of what she likes as recoil is very subjective. • Q: this pistol says it comes with 1-13 rd mag.Another in this website says it comes with 1-10 rd mag. Which is it? I'm interested in the xd defender sub compact.

  Ron, This model ships with 13 round magazine. The 10 round magazine models are for the restricted states that are not free and prohibit standard capacity magazines..

• Q: is the double stack magazine easy to load? i have a Bersa Thunder Plus 15+1 and the mag chews up my hands being seventy three...and quite the wimp.

  Honey, I’m a woman and I don’t have too much trouble loading double stack magazines, but it does get a little tougher the closer you are to topping off a mag. I don’t know if you’re a fragile 73 year old or a tough 73 year old but I know you’re a cool 73 year old shooting guns.

  Earl, The Mod 2 and original XD are no different internally. Trigger and all internals exactly the same. The frame and grip are different. Bigger grip bulge and slightly different grip angle on grip. More generous cut out between trigger guard and frame. Rob Leatham from Springfield explains difference on this Y-Tube vid.----------3:45
