• Q: I know it comes with the 10 round CA compliant mags. Can the XDD9101 accommodate a higher capacity mag like 15 or 17 without it protruding?

  State compliant magazines are magazine that are the same dimensions as standard magazines, they are pinned by the manufacturer to acclet less rounds to be made compliant
  The full capacity magazines of the xd deffender is a 16rd magazine, it will fit flush as theot is the exact same size only its not pinned to restrict capacity.

• Q: I believe that this gun is not legal in CA, while another one, XD9101, is legal. Even despite the fact that they are, actually, the same gun. Only because "XD9101" is included to CA roster, while "XDD9101" is not.

• Q: Will this pistol accept other springfield xd magazines that hold more than 10 rounds?

  Eric, yes Sir. Most manufacturers including Springfield make firearm packages that have 10rd magazines so their pistols can also be sold in state that have magazine capacity restrictions. The pistols are exactly the same but just have 10rd mags included. The pistols will also accept any standard capacity magazines just fine.
