Yes, this is Maryland compliant/legal. If you get a ar15 with a heavy barrel it can have all the features, so you can have a collapsible stock, threaded barrel with flash hider, a regular pistol grip and all that good stuff. Just needs to have a heavy barrel then it doesn't have all the regulations. Hope this helps.

Robert, There are exceptions, but unless you are a law enforcement professional or have a permit, you must obtain a permit to purchase most handguns and semi-automatic sporting rifles. There appear to be some attorneys in New Jersey who have summarized state firearms laws. The definition of “assault rifle” varies but the best place to check before buying is with your local law enforcement personnel.
