Can you run 38 special in this revolver?

Does anyone have any information if Colt had a "recall" on the early production models to correct the issues it had? Or are you risking buying a new one and it could be an early production instead of a later one where the issues have already been addressed...?

some of the early 2020 guns had issues but there was never a recall colt handled the issues ono-on-one they also made small changes to the Python to address possible issues. in 2020 they were back ordered by 14,000 guns which is a entire year of production so the chance of getting a problem gun is extremely low and if you did colt (now owned by CZ) would fix the issue https://www.fieldandstream.com/story/guns/is-there-really-a-recall-on-the-colt-python/

how many pounds is the single action vs the double action i hear the single is smooth but the double requires alot more pressure

Craig, according to Colt, trigger weight is 5.9 lbs single action, and 9.6 lbs double action. Have a great day!

Craig, trigger pull on the New Colt Python has a 6lb Single Action average and a 10lb Double action Average so expect between a 5.5lb to 6.5lb S/A and 9.5lb to 10lb D/A pull weight depending on the specific specimen Python. Cheers and stay safe!

Thirty percent more steel beneath the rear adjustable target sight gives you a stronger revolver and more robust shooting experience. Wow! What an amazing firearm. I've collected semi-auto pistols for years, but this is my first revolver. The 4.25 inch Python is a thing of beauty. The fit and finish are simply amazing! Had it on the range and it was a pleasure shooting both 38 Special and 357 Magnum rounds. It is also just a pleasure to hold and admire. I even enjoyed cleaning it. It's a bit pricey, but you will not be disappointed!
