Taurus 856 Defender Tungsten 38 Special Revolver - Stainless/Silver, 3" Barrel, 6 Rounds, Wood Grips, Night Sights

Love this revolver. It has a nice fit & finish. Love the rubber grip that comes with it. Easy to conceal.

The 856 3" Tungsten has been a nice little revolver so far. The trigger was typically too heavy so I added a spring kit and is now GTG. Speedloader were a challenge but I found the two rubber/silicone types worked best. Sites are very effective as they are. I plan no change to them. Has around 200 rounds through it and it shoots where you aim. Still need a holster but that will hopefully be here I a week. Overall it's a nice 3" 38special for the price. My two buddies tried it and liked it also. We all prefer the DA/SA over a straight DA.

The gun is a combination of plusses and one big minus. First, like all transactions through Buds, the ordering, shipping, communication and delivery was excellent. The gun is very beautiful, and I like the little added heft over a 2" model. I have only dry fired with laser ammo, but the sight seems spot on. The trigger is a tad lighter than I like on a DA pull; but heavier on the SA pull. That is a personal preference thing, but this trigger is not a S&W or Ruger trigger. Not a big deal, because all users are different...it is just an observation. The big negative is quite disappointing, and that was the night sight. I like pistols with night sights; in 100% of prior firearm purchases with night sights, when new, they are very bright and easy to acquire in the dark. That was not the case here. Very small, very dim...to the point of uselessness. I was tempted to return the gun, but...it is an inexpensive gun and not worth my time and energy to do so. I would have given this an initial 5-star rating, but cannot do that with the condition of the night sight.
