A true work of art....There are subjectively more beautiful firearms available but they are rare and much more expensive ranging into the hundreds of thousands of dollars from old world craftsmen. For a production rifle this is the finest firearm I have ever owned....I would respectfully say even better than the original Winchester rifles and are certainly better metallurgically with stronger steel than was available back in the day. The fit and finish is perfection with no unsightly leftover milling or manufacturing marks....This 1873 toggle bolt action is smoother out-of-the-box than any other lever gun I've handled....it doesn't have the loading gate issues that other brands have of sharp edges that will cut your fingers and bind ammunition cases, the bluing is superbly deep and mirror like. As a woodworker I appreciate the highly figured grade V/VI walnut and its durable satin oil finish...If I had to choose only one of my lever action rifles to display as an example of the best version of the type this would be the one.
