Excellent gun! Reliable right out of the box, the octo-grip on the front strap and mainspring housing gives good traction but won't tear up your hands or clothes. The only small issue I have was the slide stop not locking back, replaced it problem solved, otherwise its a good gun.

Built on the same frame as the TRP this pistol is a dream to shoot and work with. Although there is some weight to it it handles with ease and out of the box shoots where your expect. Springfield is a manufacture that makes high quality equipment.

This MC Operator is a bank vault tight 1911. Fit and finish is outstanding. Love the 2 tone black/od green. Trigger a little on the high end for a higher end 1911, 5.5-6#. Hammer spring is way to heavy, I think 28#, 1911 factory spec is 23# and you can get away with 19# all day long. Very accurate. The front strap octogrip serrations are nice, but on the mainspring housing, the octogrip is downright slippery. That was an easy fix as I wanted a magwell. So new mainspring housing that was checkered. I bought this before the most recent SA scandal for a very good price. I would not buy it today, nor any other SA product until there is new ownership of that company. Great 1911 for a good price though.

This is my first 1911, and it's a beauty. The pistol arrived in perfect condition, thanks in large part to the nice case and packaging that Springfield provides. A holster and mag caddie are included, which is a nice touch. The grip panels are excellent- aggressive, but comfortable. The front strap checkering is perfect with just the right amount of traction. The mainspring housing is checkered at ~20 LPI and is aggressive, but not uncomfortable. The slide to frame fit is nice and tight with no rattles at all. The bushing is tight and fits nicely, but does not require a wrench to turn. The finish is really nice and the green frame, black slide and black accents look outstanding in a sea of all black and all silver handguns. Overall, the firearm is flawless; however, there are a couple minor details that I have found with the example that was sent to me. The beavertail safety is a little sloppy in the frame, and it 'clicks' from side to side when depressed. This is minor (and maybe I'm too picky), and does not affect the function of the weapon. The thumb safety contacts the right side grip panel just slightly, and has left a small indent in the top of it after 200 rounds. This is simply a minor cosmetic issue, and the safety works as it should. The slide stop plunger is very stiff and requires a little assistance from a credit card or a small screw driver to get the slide stop back in place upon reassembly. The Trijicon night sights glow bright in the dark, but are a little hard to pick up indoors as there's no white paint around the tritium tubes. I fed 200 rounds of American Eagle 230 grain FMJ through it with zero issues. The pistol is far more accurate than I am, and the weight of it helps manage recoil nicely. Overall, I am very happy with this firearm, and will have it for many years to come. Thanks to Bud's for the great price, and thanks to Springfield for the great pistol.

Absolutely beautiful gun! Haven't gotten to shoot it yet, but plan to put a hundred rounds or so through it tomorrow and see how she handles. The fit and finish exceeded my expectations. Inspected very closely before transfer to make sure all was good, and couldn't find even the slightest blemish. If this things shoots as good as it looks, it should keep a smile on my face for a very long time. Buds delivered fairly quick, and were excellent to deal with. Even when on the phone dealing with some stock availability issues, they were all extremely courteous and helpful. Did what they could to make sure I got exactly what I wanted.

The picture does not do this pistol justice. Beautiful handgun! Works great as well. 500 rounds of various ball and hallow point loads and 0 issues.

Bud's service was exceptional as usual. The Springfield Operator is a well made firearm. Tight fit and an excellent OD/Black finish. Comes in a very nice black case with kydex holster and mag carrier. For a little over $1000.00 this is one of my favorite 1911's. At the range it quickly digested 200 rounds of Winchester ball and hollow points without a problem.
