The Tavor 7 is the next evolutionary step in the Tavor bullpup family. The Tavor carries the usual reliability expected of all IWI products with some increased ergonomic features. This includes the ability to lock the charging handle without the use of the bolt catch. It also maintains the M4 type ambidextrous magazine release system and 45 degree ambidextrous safety. The ambidextrous features include: safety lever, magazine release, and bolt catch similar to the X95. The IWI Tavor 7 also includes an M-LOK fore-end as well as MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rails at the 12 and 6 o'clock positions, to allow the use of multiple devices and accessories. The rifles body is built from high-strength impact-modified polymer, and has a hammer-forged, chrome-lined barrel for enhanced accuracy and life cycle.

After unboxing, I disassembled and inspected the rifle. In my opinion, it is a high quality built weapon. I installed a 2 moa red dot and mechanical sights. I shot ten rounds to zero my sights at 100 yards. The last five shots I obtained a 6 inch grouping. The Tavor 7 operated without faults. It is an excellent weapon as a battle rifle, hence, using the red dot. Virtually no barrel rise and smooth cycling. I consider the Tavor 7 as money well spent. It may become my favorite sweetheart. As always, thanks to Buds for prompt delivery and the great selection of weapons.

To preface, this is my fourth IWI rifle; I have been covetous since it was released. I knew what generally the rifle was and its performance; I am not a fan of all things Eugene Stoner. I was not let down and was moreover delightfully surprised. This is my fourth x51 and my 7th 7.62. All pale in comparison. She needed a good Hebrew name - Naomi was chosen. Naomi did not come with 'iron' sights, but MagPul was there to assist. The magazine shipped was also MagPul in origin. They are relatively cheap to acquire and found in many online vendors. Topped with a fixed power prism optic, a solid weapons-mounted light, and a good sling, she was well-nigh ready for the range. The recoil is a push. The rifle is stout and yet not unwieldy. The improvements, first shown with the X95 and then refined with the 7 make it truly an awesome rifle. The trigger is somewhere between a military trigger and a moderately custom trigger - it isn't the best, but far from being the worst. If Geissele were to make one for this model, I don't know for sure if I would buy like the previous models. Disassembly is also customary to the breed; not laborious or tool-dependent, but not as field-friendly as some. QD attachment points are adequate. The forearm is M-Lok and provides more than enough for lights or additional frippery. The underside of the forearm slides to expose a rail for VFG, bipod, or maybe even a flame-thrower. The gas system is adjustable, using an unfired round even. My only criticism thus far is the lack of a bayonet lug. Frankly, she deserves one as much as any other girl deserves a nice summer dress.
