Definitely a very unique gun. In the hand, just like almost any HK product, the quality seems to be there. Now my experience with this gun has been underwhelming. During the first 40 rounds I experienced a FTF issue where the slide would stop just slightly out of battery with the round hanging up half way up the breech face. It was almost as if the round was being stopped by the extractor. This issue would happen every 3-4 rounds. Different ammo made no difference. Sent the gun back to HK, to no one’s surprise, they couldn’t recreate it….. back to the range, same issue…all the while my Glock 21 and FNX 45 are eating the same ammo without the first issue. I decided to continue to run the gun for another 100 rounds with some rapid fire. To my amazement, the gun began to function better. Really sad that a $1200 HK needs a break in period… this gun is a super accurate range toy that I would NOT use for home defense or any situation where a reliable gun is needed. I would NOT buy this gun again.

I have NEVER had a bad experience in dealing with Bud's Gun Shop . This HK Elite .45 is a Masterpiece of design . Very accurate shooter . I have owned the HK Mark 23 , but I like the Elite much better . The balance and de-cocking features are better IMO . I have no need for a Suppressor, and must say that I am very impressed with this purchase . Another great thing about Bud's is that they offer many very hard to find Firearms . I Gladly give Bud's AND HK a 5 Star approval rating .

Most accurate 45 I've ever shot, I wanted a double stack long slide 45 and the HK USP 45 Elite delivered. I'm an average pistol shooter and I was getting good groups at 15 and 25 yards when I did my part correctly. Shipping was fast from buds and I had no issues with the entire transaction. Overall very satisfied with purchase, if you're looking for a double stack long slide 45 I highly recommend the USP Elite

This is a nice gun, and Bud's price, service and speed are all I could ask for, but I had trouble....Shooting the gun in competition,I shot very low. Shooting afterwards to refine my grip, stance, etcetera, I still shot very low and a bit left. Shooting off a sandbag, It shoots about five inches low and one or two inches left at ten yards. I adjusted the sights until I was pretty close, having moved the adjustable rear sight right about 1/32", and up about 3/32". What I find is that this gun shares the tall front sight with the suppressor equipped models and to adjust the rear sight enough, the elevation screw almost falls out.....(mine did). The front sight does not match the rear sight. Then had one feeding failure; while it shot five varieties of ball ammo perfectly, it locked up on lead semi-wadcutter. I loaded a magazine, dropped the slide, and it would not fire. I could not clear the jam in any way short of brute force. I left the weapon and notified the range safety officer.....he had trouble, had to use enough force that the lead bullet nose was deformed. The trigger is very good, with room for improvement. The pull is OK, but sometimes feels like I have to force it to fire; and I feel a little grinding while returning the trigger after firing. Anyway, what you have here is a very nice mass produced pistol, with factory mismatched sights.
