• Q: Will this model accept all sizes, 1 3/4, 2 3/4, and 3" shells?

  Hi Richard, yes sir, this will accept & reliably cycle 3", 2.75". and 1.75" shells. The 590S is made to cycle the mini shells with no adapter.

• Q: Are you able to take off the ghost ring site and /or mount a red. Optic in front of it? Or is that something that you would have to get an aftermarket rail for? I saw a picture on another site and was just wondering if it was possible or just BS?

  Raymond, you would have to remove the rear sight. This is drilled and tapped so you would have to purchase a picatinny rail to install a optic. According to reviews the ghost sights comes off with a simple screw. Then you can add a rail. Hope this helps

• Q: Is this shotgun legal in Illinois? I know it’s pump but with the ability to hold 13 short shells I am not certain.

  Hi William, Magazine Capacity Limits: 1. a magazine, belt, drum, feed strip, or similar device that has a capacity of, or that can be
  readily restored or converted to accept, more than 10 rounds of ammunition for long guns and
  more than 15 rounds of ammunition for handguns
  The way I read it is since this can hold 13 mini shells, and the gun is specifically designed to fire those mini shells, it would not be compliant. With that being said, you should seek advice from a FFL in your area who is more well versed in Illinois gun law than we are on here.

  PS - James, the 5rd limit applies to semi-auto shotguns.

• Q: I know this would be legal in NY with 2 3/4" and 3" shells but would the fact that it is designed to also feed 1 3/4 " shells change the legality because it would increase the magazine capacity.

  Nicholas, this would be a gray area as Mini Shells can be loaded into any shotgun (may not feed without an adapter) but, you get the point. Just the "Act" of loading more than the stated State capacity limit **In a Semi-Auto** is illegal by Law. Since Mossberg specifically "Designed" this to reliably feed Mini Shells and advertises the capacity as 13 + 1, this still would not preclude it from being NY Legal by stated Law as it only applies to *Semi-Auto's*. My opinion is that it is legal since it is a Pump Action but, please confirm with a local NY FFL Dealer on their opinion as they are most up to date on local Gun Laws. Cheers and stay safe!

• Q: CT has a LCM limit of 10 rds. At 1 3/4", there would be more than 10. How would a 10-max limt work?

  Michael, this gun would not be CT legal. It doesn't matter what size shells you use, it has the capacity to accept 13 shells. They do make a 10rd capacity 590S that has an 18.5" barrel instead of the 20", unfortunately it is out of stock. budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/140725/mossberg+&+sons+51603+590s+tactical+12+185+10%2b1
