SA built this pistol from the ground up 31/2 bushless barrels but all1911 style it is a very EDC piece nice fiber optic sight SA ronin line were all attractive guns but I wanted the very light 9mm can’t wait to get to the range Fast service great prices. Thanks Buds

Overall, a nice, small 1911 chambered in 9mm. After receiving the pistol, I cleaned it, put a light coat of lube on it and took it to the range. At the range, I fired about 250 rounds through the pistol with zero problems. I used a mixture of FMJ and HP ammunition and the gun worked great. The fiber optic sights on the pistol are a big plus for target accuracy. I got the typical great service from Bud's that we have all come to expect.

The Emp Ronin is a beautiful firearm and feels great in my hand. The fit and finish are second to none. If you are looking for a great concealed carry pistol with an amazing 1911 trigger and feel ... look no further. I would highly recommend this gun. As usual, Buds came through with a perfect buying experience.

I've been wanting a 1911-style pistol for a while now and after doing my research for an EDC 1911, the Springfield Ronin EMP 9mm 3" checked off all of the boxes for me! Compact, sturdy, good capacity in 9mm and built to last, is how I describe it. The quality is top-notch, the accuracy is better than my polymer EDC I have had for years! I took it to the range and ran around 100 rounds through it. Near the end, it did begin to slightly jam and the slide was not fully coming back into battery. Come to find out, it needed to be re-oiled, before I even shot it, as the assembly oil must have evaporated (maybe this unit sat on a shelf for a while) and the heat of the barrel and slide must have dried it out too much. I field stripped it at home, cleaned and oiled it and it seems much happier now. Now it's in my EDC holster cleaned, oiled and on the ready. With this 1911 still being the world's smallest and highest capacity for some years now, it's no surprise that the Springfield Armory 1911 Ronin EMP is a MUST HAVE weapon for EDC!!! And it packs one heck of a punch for such a small weapon!

Bottom line, the Springfield Armory Ronin EMP 3" 1911 is a well-designed piece with craftsmanship and quality apparent throughout. Fit, finish, and purchase in-hand are all excellent. However, it is not a "9+1" capacity pistol. The pistol ships with one nine round capacity magazine. Upon receiving it and getting it home, I loaded the magazine to the full nine rounds with FMJ/brass rounds, inserted the magazine (with the slide locked open), then chambered the first round from the magazine. I then dropped the magazine to top it off with the ninth round - returning the fully loaded magazine to the pistol, it would not lock in the mag well, about a quarter of an inch short of locking in-place. The magazine with nine rounds, with the slide forward in battery, would not seat and lock in the pistol. I had already ordered (from Bud's) three additional magazines, all Springfield OEM. Upon receipt of the three additional magazines, I loaded all three, each with a compliment of similar rounds but of different manufacturer brand ammunition - FMJ and JHP. Same result. A magazine with nine rounds will not fully install into the pistol with the slide forward. A quick call to Springfield customer support in Illinois confirmed that the EMP 9mm 3" is an 8+1 pistol when in full battery with a round chambered. Deal breaker? No, not for my needs. With the Holidays upon us, I have not had the opportunity to range fire this pistol yet. But based on others that have had that pleasure, I feel confident that my example will perform to my expectations. Thanks to Bud's for a smooth delivery and a great price on a hard to find pistol.

Very nice 1911. Great fit and finish. Very smooth trigger. Have fired a few hundred rounds without issue. Shoots accurately to my ability One of my favorite pistols.
