I am thoroughly disappointed with this firearm. I took it out to the range and put several boxes of round nose range ammo through it. Shot well and was very accurate. HOWEVER, when I switched to hollow point ammo, I could not get any to feed at all. The round loaded forward and jambed into the lower portion of the feed ramp every time: Speer Gold Dot, two variations of Sig HP’s and a fourth I can’t recall what they were. As a side note, my CZ, H&K VP9 and Walther PDP that I also took to the range that day gobbled everything up. I REGRET buying this Canik.

The pistol feels nice, great trigger, shoots accurately and flat. But it's not 99% reliable. I understand break-in for some guns, and it's better after cleaning and lubrication, but it still have a few FTE, after 300 rounds. Have used 124 and 115 gr. Hopefully it gets better after a few more "break-in," because it's great most of the time.

Once again Buds delivered my firearm fast with no problems or issues. The Canik rival s is all it claims, it’s heavy enough to absorb the recoil, double taps were better than I expected and the adjustable rear sight help me zero it in with no problem. I would recommend this firearm to anyone who wants to start competition shooting like myself.

It’s not a high end CZ or 1911. Then again it’s not supposed to be. It’s got the best striker fire trigger out there just like the Canik Rival. It seems like Canik listened to those who had some issues with the standard Rival. It’s easier to keep a hold on than the already pretty easy polymer version. It kicks less making a bit quicker. I had to wait for over a year for it and all I can say is that it was worth the wait. I plan on using it in a shooting competition next month. I’m not sure how I will do but I know I will have fun. Picture is the first 50 rounds through it

This is the big brother to the polymer CANIK Rival, which I also own. This all steel RIVAl has quite a bit of heft so it absorbs recoil better. I'm a competitive IDPA shooter so I appreciate its Maxwell and the extra weight. After 200 rounds I have to say that I'm impressed. It also has a great trigger.
