The New, Optic-Ready 940 Pro Tactical Autoloaders have been designed to
accept low-profile direct mounting of Shield RMSc-pattern micro dot
sights- for improved eye alignment and target acquisition. Inside, you
will find a durable gas system that allows for up to 1500 rounds between
cleanings, and a host of corrosion-resistant internal parts/finishing
(nickel boron-coated gas piston, magazine tube, hammer and sear); plus
an enlarged/beveled loading port, elongated elevator, and anodized
follower for smooth operation.

The Mossberg 940 is a great shot gun for the price, and a better gun in my opinion than other shot guns in this price range. Shoots straight and true with no hiccups after 500 rounds so far. It might be a bit complicated to break down for cleaning but after you do it a few times it’s a breeze. This shotgun is a fast shooter and has a medium recoil using 00Buck and slugs. If you want to fill the magazine up to the 7 plus one you’ll have to try a few brands of shells as it will only take 6 plus one with some brands of shells. Try some Winchester White box shells as they will take 7 plus one. You can’t go wrong with this shotgun. Looks and shoots great.

This shotgun is absolutely beautiful and looks mean as hell at the same time. There is definitely an intimidation factor when this bad boy is out. I’ve only had it to the range one time. I ran 30 rounds of buckshot and about 15 slugs. Ran smooth as butter. The action is so fast there’s no way to outshoot this gun. Recoil is minimal. Zero malfunction. Highly recommend this shotgun for anyone serious about protecting themselves and their loved ones. Or just to blow stuff up! Love this gun!!

Runs great. Overall very happy. 4 stars because the hand guard has a small amount of play that makes it feel cheap. Otherwise, great gun.

I took some friends/customers out for "diversity training" at the range this week, and my 940 Pro Security was a hit. Everyone was amazed at how little felt recoil it had compared to my Remington 870. They were able to blast soda cans, apples, and watermelons with not-so-reckless abandon. This is my first semi-auto shotgun, and I'm very happy I chose this one. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a solid home defense shotgun.

DO NOT LISTEN to any negative Mossberg semi-auto ramblings...this is one great shotgun! Its a beauty and will run anything you put in it. The Holosun 407K optic is outstanding. Many great features: Oversized charging handle & bolt release, MLOCK barrel clamp, red dot sight, quick unload feature.....all great stuff. Don't think this shotgun, at this price point, can be beat. Love this shotgun

Handles and points like a dream. Point and shoot with the low mounted red dot makes it easy to precisely aim, quickly. I really like the length for home defense. I will be adding a M-LOK to pic rail adapter to the barrel band to mount a Streamliight laser/light. The light is essential to knowing the target in poor lighting. The laser allows precise shooting from the hip or other unconventional positions. The recoil seems to be less than by Benelli Montefeltro, which has an inertial rather than gas system. They say you don't really need to clean until 1500 rounds which is amazing. I won't wait that long, but it's good to know that after a few hundred it will be running well for a long time. Order to receipt at FFL was about 2 weeks. Overall extremely satisfied.
