My second one, this time a Gen 2 with the threaded barrel. Better grip texture but still heavy as a brick and still ugly as sin. fires every time no matter what I feed it. P rated for my Booming handloads recoil is nothing with all this weight. Only problem, can't conceal carry!

Was a good price all steel gun but the safety and the slide I don’t really care for much buds shipped it fast and without any issues

I live in the boonies, and I sell vacant land in South Central Colorado. There have been instances of where a land seller has been asked to go and show land and ends up getting robbed. So, I wanted something that I could wear on my hip that was big and loud. Just to show that I am not to be trifled with. This Hi-Point fits the bill. When I show up, folks notice what I am packing. Also, it is loud, when my neighbor's dogs show up or a wildlife comes by, a couple of shots into the ground sends them packing.

This thing is a tank! Lol its not exactly zeroed in out of box. I have about 150 rounds through it so far, and have had quite a few FTF. I was using Federal red box FMJ and the slide kept sticking back. After research I did before I purchased, I found out these Hipoints need a break in period...and I was fine with that, I don't plan to conceal this tank. It's about 4Ibs give over take loaded.

Go ahead and laugh at a hi-point all you want, but I will put my hi-point against any .45 auto out there. This gun is rock solid and can handle +P ammo as well. You could run-over this gun with a whole tank platoon and it wouldn't even break a sweat. This thing is built like an 8 lb. Estwing sledgehammer. Buy this gun NOW, it will bring-out the BEAST in ya.

Bought a 9mm hi-point last month this month it was the 9011 45mm thay both are really nice guns no problem at all with neither 1. Got me a 9011 tisas a few months back Buds is the only place to shop from.

So far I have 110 rounds through it, I am not yet out of the break-in period so I will forgive the 1 stove-pipe and failure to feed I had during my range sesh. I did also sometimes have to slap the back of the slide to get it to feed the first round in a mag, but this became less and less of a problem as time went on. If there was one word I could use to describe this gun it would be "Exhausting". It is exhausting to shoot this. The slide is clunky and needs to be pulled back with far too much force in order to feed the first round of the magazine, the grip is awkwardly shaped and does not lend itself to a proper two hand hold, the grip panels have a hot spot around where the web of your hand goes and the slide serrations don't help all that much. That being said recoil is entirely manageable (slightly more than my Glock 19 but not bad at all) and it is sufficiently accurate (pic of target is my first 9 rounds through the gun at 10 yards). The gun is absolutely massive. It is more reasonable to compare it to a MK23 or a Deagle than anything else. You are not concealing this thing unless you are big foot, and even then good luck finding a good holster for it. Open carry is also difficult as there are few holster options that aren't floppy "universal" style holsters. The gen 2 is absolutely an improvement on the gen 1. I used to have a JCP .40 years ago and that was absolutely horrible. Everything about it was worse than this gen 2 JHP .45. The trigger is also a massive improvement over the Gen 1, although it is still horrible compared to my other handguns. With all that said I give it 4 stars. For 185 bucks you can't really ask for much more, especially if the few malfunctions and feed issues I've had go away with time as I suspect they will. If you are on a tight budget and are looking for a home defense gun or a red dot and suppressor host (like me) then go for it. The warranty is industry leading, magazines are cheap and worst case scenario it can double as a club.
