Michael, no sir, this is good to go. A tubular magazine is exempt from the 10rd limit. See 'C' below - Magazines are limited to ten (10) rounds. Exemptions: A. An ammunition-feeding device that has been permanently altered so that it cannot accommodate more than 10 rounds of ammunition; B. A .22 caliber tubular ammunition-feeding device; or C. Yes, this models receiver is Drilled & Tapped to accept a scope mount. As suggested, I would also utilize a piccatinny rail mount for a broader range of optic/scope choices.

Yes, the top of the receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounting, and the rifle is supplied with an offset hammer spur extension for use when a scope is mounted. Ruger is proud to announce the reintroduction of the Marlin Model 1894 Classic chambered in .44 Rem Mag. The Model 1894 Classic features the traditional characteristics that made this a truly iconic rifle. Richly blued and featuring a square finger lever, this alloy steel rifle is equipped with a 20.25" cold hammer-forged barrel and a beautifully-finished American black walnut straight stock and forend. The tubular magazine features a loading gate located on the receiver and will accept 10 rounds of 44 Rem Mag or 11 rounds of 44 Spl ammunition.

Absolutely five stars, took it out to the range today and it performed flawlessly. Accuracy was good right out of the box. I was only shooting steel out to 100 yds or so but right on target every time. What really impressed was the fit and finish. Beautiful bluing and I don't know if I just got lucky but the wood on mine has phenomenal figure. Wholeheartedly recommend this new Ruger/Marlin version.

This 44 mag was the third new Ruger Marlin I’ve purchased. The fit and finish of wood to metal is even better than the guide gun and the guide gun is pretty darn good. It is light and quick to the shoulder.
