Average gun in a nice stock, but with one major flaw. Let's face it, this is a $400 gun in a really nice piece of walnut. Made by Retay in Turkey. The big problem is that they claim it's compatible with Ruger 10/22 mags, but that's not entirely true. The back end of the barrel is cut in a cone shape protruding toward the bolt face, so there is a sharp edge around the chamber mouth. If your bullet approaches the chamber at too low an angle, the edge bites into the bullet and either shaves off a chunk or it jams up completely. The Springfield-branded mag worked perfectly through 250 rounds, but four Ruger 10-round mags all had feeding problems, with about a 50% jam rate. A Ruger BX-25 loaded with 10 rounds had a 100% jam rate. There is some subtle difference between the feed lips on the Springfield mag vs. the Ruger mags where the cartridge just comes out of the Ruger mags a little too low. The problem is worst with round nose bullets; 38gr hollow points that have a more pointed bullet are more likely to slide over the sharp edge without getting caught (e.g. Aguila Super Extra High Velocity). For accuracy, this is a pretty middle of the road rifle. Looking back through my test data, I'd say it's about on par with my Savage Mk II TR, but a little worse than my CZ 455s/457s and Browning T-Bolt. Off a bench at 50 yds with a 9X scope, I got (average of five 5-shot groups): - Lapua Polar Biathlon: 1.33 MOA - CCI Standard Velocity: 1.39 MOA - SK Biathlon Sport: 1.39 MOA - SK Rifle Match: 1.41 MOA - Eley Club: 1.51 MOA - Eley Tenex: 1.86 MOA - Aguila Super Extra Standard Velocity: 2.09 MOA - Federal Target: 2.22 MOA - CCI Blazer: 2.31 MOA - Aguila Super Extra High Velocity 38gr HP: 2.47 MOA - Geco Match: 2.48 MOA - RWS Target Rifle: 2.66 MOA - CCI Minimag Target: 2.79 MOA If it weren't for the fact that I'm going to have to buy some Springfield mags (which don't appear to be available yet), I would probably have scored this a 4-star.
