Had some problems with this pistol out the box trigger wouldn't reset and then cylinder sometimes wouldn't rotate. After getting snap caps and pulling trigger hundreds of time and shooting 500 rounds through it seems to be working now. Colt missed the mark on the python. I own an anaconda and have had no problems.

Obviously a quality revolver, but Bud's makes it it an easy purchase with quality employees and wonderful customer service. I will continue looking to Bud's Gunship for my firearm purchases.

I had. Python years ago when they first came out. Traded a guy a used 327 Chevy engine for it! Bought this one about a year ago. Love it!

I have around 150 rounds of .38 Special 148 grain Wadcutters, 50 rounds .38 Special 158 grain Round Nose Lead (RNL), 45 rounds .357 Magnum 125 grain Jacketed Hollow Points (JHPs) and perhaps another 15 rounds of .357 Magnum 158 grain Semi-Wadcutters through this revolver at the time of this writing. My conclusion: VERY Accurate. With eyes and my arc of motion (wobble) being what they are (crappy) there is no way I can shoot this new Python to its maximum potential. Using the double action (DA) trigger this firearm easily made 3-inch groups at 25 yards with Federal .357 Magnum 125 grain JHPs. I included a picture of the nicest group made by .38 Special Wadcutters. This was slow fire in DA mode. The Leatherman "Rebar" tool in the shot has a ruler on the side, which you cannot see in the picture (I tried to put that in for scale. Key word: "tried"). The DA trigger does not stack and is very smooth/nice to use. It is almost difficult to anticipate recoil using this trigger mode. Speaking of recoil, even with full house magnums, it is very manageable. The single action trigger is light and crisp, much like the original. There were no malfunctions of any type noted. Lock up was tight in both trigger modes and there was no "spitting" or other indicators of the firearm being out of time. To me this Python is much truer to form to the original than many other re-introduced firearms. There are subtle differences, like the profiles of the trigger, and the hammer, the crowned muzzle, etc. You kind of have to look close to notice the differences. The grip profile is the same as the original so it will accept any grips meant for the previous Python models. I prefer wooden grips on revolvers however I am in no hurry to change out the stock grips on this firearm. This Python was purchased to be a shooter, not a safe queen like the old Royal Blue model in the pictures. It will see extensive use over the next few years. The price through Buds was lower than any other vendor and most vendors did not even have this finish (matt-stainless) in stock. In addition to this, the fact that it was over $200 cheaper than the bright stainless model was a huge factor in my decision to purchase this revolver. Thus far, it has performed better than anticipated which is huge considering I had set the bar on this pretty high. My friends who have handled and/or shot this revolver all have been universally impressed with two of them expressing an interest in buying their own. The staff at Buds were polite throughout the purchase process. My hat is off to them. In this rare case, having IS better than wanting.
