The Stevens Model 334 bolt action rifle features a crisp trigger and a
60-degree bolt lift to allow faster loading on follow-up shots. The
barrel is free-floating and button rifled with 11 degree Target Crown;
Turkish Walnut stock; 3-position safety; matte black carbon steel
receiver; drilled & tapped; MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny Rail and two
sling swivel studs.

I bought this rifle (Savage 334 in .30-06, walnut stock) from Bud's about 4 months ago, but have been working on getting a peep and front sight for it. However, that is going to take some time so I mounted a Weaver 2.5X scope and took it to the range today.I shot it off sandbags and it is impressively accurate. However, the trigger pull is atrocious. It has a two-stage trigger, no problem. But once I reached the second stage it felt like driving down a potholed road, very rough, and the pull was very heavy. I am going to see if I can lighten it up and smooth it out. This may only be a problem with the rifle I got but I feel that people should be forewarned. Overall I am very pleased with it. My local FFL dealer thought I "made out like a bandit" and I concur.

A good looking rifle and lightweight, strong cartridge being powerful enough (with a good range) for all North American game. No sights but that was apparent in the photos beforehand so no complaints. Due to the light weight, it's going to produce its share of felt, free recoil. Seems the price has gone down a bit since I bought one and I recommend snatching one of those rifles up if you can. Four stars due to the plastic clip, but in my opinion, worth every penny.

Recieved my Stevens 334, model 18940, 30.06 today. Buds was fantastic on the shipping. However a correction is needed. This model is listed on Buds sight as having a 22" barrel, it does not, it has a 20" barrel. This was not a deal breaker for me and I chose to keep it. I would recommend Buds for purchasing firearms and this rifle.

Still waiting to clear NICS and state. But from what i seen (cosmeticly) it is a beautiful rifle. All revues have been very positive on this rifle and hope is same when I finally get to shoot it. No problems with Buds, everything shipped good. I'm very excited about this addition and can't wait to shoot it.
