If I could only own one firearm, this would probably be the one. It’s such a beautiful, well-made example of a commander-size 1911. The blueing is incredible, trigger is super crisp. Just an all around great gun. The only thing I changed were the grips (full thickness, American Holly), but that was purely for aesthetic preference. Buds was great once again with their sales and support.

I have been watching this gun for some time. I wanted to add a 1911 to my stable, but I also wanted one that I could carry CCW when I want to. I prefer carrying .45 ACP, not religious about it, but I prefer the round. I read every review I can find on a particular gun before I buy it. I try to get one in my hands and feel it and look at it before buying it. I had not seen this gun at a local store, or at any local gun show in my area. I knew Buds had it available online and I was watching it. When the price dropped, with free shipping I decided to pull the trigger and order it. I am glad I did. The fit and finish is amazing. This is a tight gun! Let me say that again. This. is. a. tight. gun. I disassembled it to clean and lube it, the barrel bushing was very difficult to move far enough to release the pressure on the spring and guide rod. Once I got the gun apart, it is a thing of beauty to look at. Yes I know there are MIM parts in it, I don't care. Again, I listened to and read countless reviews. If I want to replace them I can, but no one I listened to or read had any issues with them breaking. This gun has some weight behind it. But that will be good to absorb some of that .45 ACP energy. I have not shot it yet, I love the look of the blued steel, but I can see that the finish might not hold up as well as I would hope. I laid the gun on my bedside table and in the morning I noted a slight smudge where my alarm clock brushed up against it. Not too much an issue for me. Does it look horrible? No, will it look like it gets used when I take it to the range and when I start to EDC this gun, yes it will. That being said I might have considered the stainless version and maybe I will buy one of those too. This 1911 is a bit lonely with all my polymer wonders. 5 STARS to buds on this gun Good shipping, easy transaction. I am a repeat customer who will buy more. I don't have a membership anymore because my wife would catch on to my spending habits and I would be back in therapy or counseling or whatever it is.

Well made 1911 with excellent fit and finish, should last you a lifetime. The “Commander” size barrel points naturally and rides more comfortably in a hip holster than my standard size 1911’s. No functionality issues and is accurate at the range. Would recommend this pistol to anyone looking for a carry gun.

Always wanted a true commander sized gun but didn’t want to pay colt prices. Have had good experiences with SA 1911s in the past. Fit and finish on the gun is excellent and bluing is gorgeous. Shoots smooth and is reliable so far.

One of the main reasons for choosing a Springfield was their reputation for customer service and I am glad I did. I had a couple of minor issues with the weapon. I sent Springfield an email within an hour I was given a return label and sent it to them. 4 weeks later it was shipped back and it is PERFECT it will shoot any ammo , and any 45 magazine and is deadly accurate , thank you Springfield. With customer service at a all time low in our country it is refreshing to deal with a company like Springfield.

I have two Colt 1911’s and one Kimber 1911. This Springfield Garrison is as good or better than the above. Love the feel and quality. Shoots great too with no issues.

This is a beautiful pistol. I wanted 1911 within my budget that had a steel frame and a few enhancements like an adjustable trigger and extended beaver tail. Sights are nice too. I like the 4.25 barrel length.
