Living in Pittsburgh I'm surprised to see this Savage Axis, that I bought and received only a month or two back, is rusting. I would have hoped I could at least take it out the safe and gone outside with it a second time. Taken it outside only once and that was on a fine clear day, and of course the day I fetched it from the store, which was another perfect day. No complaint against Bud's, in fact they've been great. Savage Axis? not impressed. Other comments: bolt action is rough, and bolt movement too close to the low mounted scope. Actually, those are my only criticisms: rust and bolt/scope. To be fair the rest of it's actually OK for the low cost; accuracy, recoil, handling, but that nowhere near makes up for it. I can't recommend this rifle and won't be keeping it.

The Savage Axis XP is a fantastic rifle for the price. The .308 Win offers great accuracy, and the 20” barrel makes it easy to handle. The included 3-9x40 scope is a nice addition for range shooting and hunting. Reliable and well-made.
