Pros: Pistol is great, Buds was great. Cons: Kimber states this pistol is not California compliant even though California did not deny my DROS because the make and model are on the registry, so they wont honor their rebate due to a SKU difference.

Photos don't do it justice. I've been a 1911 fan for many years and Kimber has been there from the beginning. This is my latest Kimber purchase and my first all-black model and just might be my favorite now. The finish is outstanding. The factory VZ grips provide for a positive and secure grip that compliments the factory front strap checkering, like it's held to my hand by Velcro. The fit is smooth and tight. Kimber rates their triggers at 4 to 5 lbs. This one hits just under 4 with a crisp break with minimal take-up. As good as it looks and feels, it's even better to shoot. I recommend it highly.

Out of all the 1911's I own, this is the best deal on a reliable production 1911. Buds was excellent as always.

First time using buds and luckily decided to buy this kimber as my first firearm and couldn't be happier! Using the ach discount was nice, took 5 business days to clear and shipping was great! The product had all the features I wanted and they exceeded expectations with their craftmanship, and also shoots awesome. Has also earned my trust since I've gone through 200 rounds w/o a malfunction, but I did get WC 47d LP mags and never used the one from kimber. I did have to oil out of box, and make sure you coat it generously with a rust preventative just in case, my slide did get some rusts spots from my bag getting a bit wet but I used eezox and haven't had a problem since. This buy easy one of the best hand guns I have owned. It has become my go to home self defense gun and one of the best 1911 on the market a must buy. I have wanted this gun for a long time and saved for it is was worth the price by far one of the smoothest 1912 I have ever owned. My only knock is the take down procedure is a bit of a pain compared to other 1911's but that is it. If you want a 1911 buy this one

This was my first kimber and wow is all I can say. Such a beautiful and well made investment. Couldnt be happier.

This was my first Kimber, and first 1911 ever purchased. The first 50 rounds of ball ammo chambered and fired flawlessly without a single misfire or jam. The gun feels tight out of the box and takes some effort to slide the action back, but my understanding is this is all part of the break-in period. I loved how it felt in my hand and being such a heavy gun, the recoil was not difficult to control. The night sights are a very cool feature and they really got my attention when I opened my gun safe containing this 1911 and immediately saw the glowing sights illuminating from the darkness. It was packaged in a decent polymer box with the standard safety lock, bushing wrench, and unfortunately, only one Kimber magazine. For the price I payed for this handgun, one magazine seems a bit cheap. The included Kimber magazine has a flimsy feel to the feeder, so I purchased three other magazines of another brand and only used those at the shooting range with no issues. All in all, I feel like I received a good value for the money I spent. This gun not only is ascetically appealing, but performed much better than I had anticipated. It was my first experience shooting a .45 acp and am already addicted. Can't wait for range time next week to shoot this beautiful handgun again.

It has been a while since I bought a Kimber 1911 in 45cal but I am thrilled again. Just a great, well made gun with no quality control issues. Tight and accurate and just a great looking firearm with no negative issues.
