This is an excellent and accurate rifle. I use it to hunt pigs and for target shooting. Its great.

every thing went ok except for the ffl dealer. didn't think he was going to transfer the firearm. had to contact the sheriffs office to get him to transfer the gun would not use H&H auctions again. first of all he did not get the fire arm on the first day it was delivered waited until the next day. never called and told me it was there. the only way i knew was to check my email. then the fbi always puts me on hold because i was born in ancon panama which was a u s territory back then in 49. so this was the 6th of march and they put it on hold until the 12 of march. nick said he was going to be gone all week an would be back sunday night late on the 15 of march and that i should call him bright and early monday the 16 of march well i called him at eight in the morning and no answer i left a voice mail. waited a hour and tried again no answer so i went over to a friends of his because i had no idea where he lived. his friend called him and he answer and told him he was doing something and would call me when he got done. i left his friends and tried to call him to find out how long he would be no answer i found out where he lived so i drove by his house and knocked on the door no answer. his truck was there and you could hear people shuffeling around inside.tried to call no answer. finally went to the sheriffs office and this deputy was there that was there when i was filling out the paperwork on the 6th of march. he called nick and he answered and finally i went to his place of business an we did the transfer. i filed a complaint with the atf will not use this person again. and i still don't know why he wouldn't answer his phone if that deputy wouldn't have been there i don't know what would have happend.

The only criticism I have of this rifle is minor; the five-round mag that comes with it fits the rifle badly. It loves Colt 20 rounders, though. It can be finicky about ammunition. Mine definitely prefers 5.56 over .223, and it likes 62 grain over 55. With the basic M855 it shoots nice, tight groups and it'll ring 2 foot by 2 foot steel at 500 yards consistently. It's a load of fun with the small sized tannerite at 200 yards. It hits them almost every time once you zero the optics. I have had problems with my Weaver six-screw tactical mounts with picatinny screws loosening up on me over time. I have not had that problem with the same mounts on my M1A with the Springfield scope mount. Take that with a grain of salt, as it's just as likely to be a problem with the mounts as it is the rifle. All told, I like the rifle a lot. It's reasonably precise and costs way less to shoot than my M1A.

I have purchased several firearms from BUDS. The process was easy, the firearms were shipped promptly and arrived at my FFL within days. They were in excellent condition and I have not experienced any problems. BUDS also provides a price match option which I used and they matched a lower price that I found on another website; there were no issues. I will continue to use BUDS for future gun purchases. Great on-line service, I have not had to reach out to customer service; extremely satisfied.

My only three complaints are that 1) the foregrip isn't tapped for rails or MLok/Keymod compatible, 2) the trigger is pretty heavy, and 3) the barrel isn't threaded. Aside from that, I've shot everything from 36gr Black Hills Varmint Grenade up through Hornady 75gr Sierra Match King HPBT (both 223 and 5.56 boxes) at 200yds without issue, though a few types of ammo clearly did not perform well with this rifle. Do your homework though and TEST it with various ammo. My chrono results are somewhere between 50-100fps lower than the box numbers (e.g. 3712 avg with Hornady 40gr V-Max Superformance vs I've only shot about 175 rounds through it but we've learned that it likes every bit of Hornady Superformance 223 ammo we've put through it very well, and hasn't really liked Winchester or Barnes Vor-Tx ammo out to 200yds. I would also note that the trigger that comes with it has a captured disconnector (I think; looked like it was riveted in place and we weren't brave enough to force the issue) so you cannot replace the disconnector spring with e.g. a JP Enterprises reduced weight spring kit. You'll need to go with a complete trigger replacement to see good results.Aside from all that, 100% reliable, shoots well, isn't too terribly heavy, and works like most bog-standard AR platforms with regards to cleaning/maintenance. I'm very happy with it. I bought it for pigs and varmints and with a bit more work figuring out ammo preferences, it will serve admirably in that role.

Exceeded my expectations!! I was on the fence for a long time trying to decide which of the many AR15 models to purchase from the seemingly endless list of manufacturers. In the end I went for the Bushmaster Varminter because it had all the features I wanted including being able to fire 223 and 5.56 ammo on top of the 24" barrel. I'd read some very positive reviews on the rifle which helped me make my decision. Buds got the rifle shipped promptly and when it arrived it was immediately obvious this was a quality product, beautifully made and finished. After a clean and fitting the scope I took it to the range. It worked flawlessly and was every bit as accurate as I'd hoped, based on the reviews, really nice trigger too. If you re looking for this type of rifle, this is an excellent choice for the money.
