This Delton upper is my first experience with a mid-length upper. I highly recommend it over a carbine length upper and if you care about such things, a bayonet will fit on it, unlike the carbine length upper. Also the gas block is further out which should reduce the bolt carrier velocity. The Delton test fires their uppers so you have confidence that they will function, but mine was exceptionally tight, to include the dust cover door latch and the lock-up of the bolt. Don't worry, things will loosen up a bit with use. FYI, Delton has exceptional customer service. My new upper was so tight that I was concerned about it, and Delton was ready to immediately cure any issue, but I after contacting them, I realized there was no actual problem with the "tight" upper. Delton is solid.

Great customer service from buds.. the upper not the best. It was completely out of spec did not fit on any lower I had, had to us the dremel to make it fit.

This is a nice upper and a great price. I got this so my wife could build her first AR, as she improves she can change the barrel and use the rest of the upper.

OUTSTANDING!!! This was my first DT purchase, at the time I wanted to give my son an AR but the prices were inflated at the time for a complete rifle. Having extensive experience with the AR platform I figured I'd build him one. I selected this complete upper that was crazy low-priced at the time and mated it with a DT partially completed lower. I was able to save just over $200 of an assembled comparable DT or other similar rifle. Fit, finish and function is above expectation. it is a mid length heavy barrel so it is obviously a bit heavier than some other DT upper options. Shoots great, bare in mind it is not broken in yet but it seems to like all ammo except some 90's era Norinco [Chinese] mil-spec ammo I fed it. This may change once it gets more rounds through it. My opinion is that since the 90's AR platform rifles have tighter tolerances that make most of them more finicky to ammo. Anyways I have since bought more DT rifles and highly recommend them they are a great value and make something for every budget and shooter.
