X-Bolt Speed rifles have been at the top of the hunting rifle mountain for several years. Not only did the Speed rifle break new ground with its straight-shooting features, it was also cosmetically different than other bolt-action rifles with a barreled action protected by a durable Cerakote finish, camouflage on the lightweight composite stock, and a fluted, sporter weight precision barrel. The awesome appearance of the Speed rifle was more than ably backed-up by its tack driving performance. 

This new model veers off the trail from other Speed rifles, replacing the composite camo stock with a stabilized AAA dark maple stock. This stock is stiff, trim, and engineered to resist the effects of heat and moisture better than a standard wood stock. The satin finish limits glare and ensures that this Speed rifle stays true to the hunting pedigree of the original. Checkering at the grip and fore-end offers all-conditions grip. Low profile bottom metal further enhances the appearance of this wooden workhorse.

Like its predecessor, the X-Bolt 2 Speed is built for the on-the-move hunter with a no-holds barred design that is equally as capable chasing Nebraska whitetails as it is elk in Colorado. It retains features like a fluted sporter contour barrel that keeps the rifle light, maneuverable and easy to carry. The muzzle is threaded M13x0.75 to accept the included radial muzzle brake, thread protector cap, or install an optional Browning Recoil Hawg Sporter muzzle brake for extra reduction in recoil. The action is bedded and the barrel is free floated for consistent accuracy. 

The Cerakote Smoked Bronze finish is applied to the redesigned action and barrel for metal protection that exceeds traditional bluing or stainless steel. The DLX Trigger is a three-lever design that offers zero creep, zero take-up, and zero overtravel performance and comes preset from the factory at 3.5 pounds. (Adjustable down to 3.0 pounds.)
