Great little shooter, my first 9mm 1911. Smooth running with zero malfunctions. Also , buds as always came through with a hard to find pistol at a great price. Shipped extremely fast and arrived at my FFL in flawless condition. Highly recommend this colt and Buds

Absolutely a beautiful firearm. Everything from the grips to the case are the highest quality. Please make sure to get you an aftermarket recoil spring guide rod because the factory one is the only negative I could mention

One of my favorite carry pistols. I typically carry this in the winter (it's all metal so it's a bit heavy for pocket carry in the summer) and a Kahr PM9 in the summer (lighter and smaller). I love 1911s and this is no exception. For a small pistol, it handles extremely well and seems to be made for 9mm. Feels like you're shooting a full size gun IMO. Have about 1,000 rounds through it and 0 problems. Highly recommend it.

Great little gun! Anesthetically nice looking. I really like the overall dark look. Shooting is even better! My hands are medium for a guy and the gun fits perfectly. Wife shot it a few times and now wants one. She thinks its much better than her Kimber Micro 9's. I debated on the 9mm and 45 ACP version, after purchasing the 9 mm I'm glad. It's just a fun gun to shoot. I am conceal carrying. I'm a professional so it is difficult. Paired with a 1791 4 way holster is helping with the conceal carry. Trigger seems a little stiff but still breaking in.

Colt isn't what it once was. The safety lever doesn't work properly. I shouldn't have accepted the gun but for the hassle it would be to wait on Colt to make it right, I can get it fixed locally relatively quickly and reasonably. After the last two new Colts I bought I told myself, no more new Colts, I should've stuck to that. How long has Colt been building 1911 pattern handguns and they can't ship 1911 that functions properly? The simplest of pre-shipment inspections would have identified the safety lever problem. Would Colt make it right, yes sir they probably would, but I bought a new gun, not a "rough draft" for me to critique and send back for repairs. I'm done with Colt. Buds, you're good to go, I'll continue to purchase from you. Have a good one, Nick

This is one beautiful handgun, its easy to shoot, and sights were dead on right out of the box. I've put 200 rounds through it now and not one problem using Winchester and Remington ammo. This one is my favorite, but I love all my Colts. Great job by Buds too !! Would recommend the Defender as a Buy and buy it from Buds.
