SAI XD Mod.2 Service Model 9mm 4.8 Threaded Barrel 1/2x28 TPI Forged Steel Slide with Melonite Finish Flat Dark Earth Frame 16 Round

The ½x28 threading accepts 9mm and larger silencers. Thread protector cap is included. Flat dark earth frame with GripZone Texture and black Melonite forged steel slide. Includes extra tall suppressor sights to ensure visibility over most standard suppressor bodies. Steel three-dot sights are finely serrated on the shooter-facing sides to minimize glare and provide a crisp sight picture. The front sight rises .365-inches above the top of the slide for unobstructed sight picture visibility. High-Hand cutouts on the back of the grip and behind the trigger allow shooters to put support near the bore line to minimize muzzle flip. Safety features include striker status indicator, loaded chamber indicator, grip safety, internal striker block and the Ultra Safety Assurance (USA) action trigger system. Dual spring recoil system with full length guide rod. Includes two 16 round stainless steel magazines

This is one of the best striker-fire handguns I have ever owned. I can recommend it without hesitation. It has a drop-free double-stack magazine system...but the grip feels smaller in my hand than my Browning hi-power. It's very comfortable. The threaded barrel is slightly longer than the non-threaded version, and actually gives a few FPS more velocity than spec when using typical factory ammo. In addition to the trigger safety, it has a web safety (trigger finger - thumb web) that IMHO greatly reduces the possibility of a misfire due to fumble-fingers. First-level disassembly and cleaning is fast and easy. I have never experienced a jam that, near as I can tell, was not the fault of the cartridge. This is a sample size of less than 5,000 rounds. Nevertheless, I believe that I would have experienced zero jams, at this time, if I had used only perfect and flawless ammo. Accuracy is better than I expected. I am not a marksman. But I feel quite comfortable shooting at a 9-inch frying pan at 20 yards and 30 yards distance. That's about it. Cannot say that this gun has no negative features whatsoever. But all the negatives that I have experienced are trivial. For example: the words "grip zone" are molded into the handle. NOT a big deal.

Great suppressor host! Comes with suppressor sights already installed and ready to go. Accurate and as reliable as a brick! You can't go wrong with this pistol, especially from Bud's! Note that this model has the fixed grip, (it' not the XDm with different sized grip panels). This is not a problem for me, but some with other than normal-sized hands may like the XDm model better, (but it is more expensive!).

I have an XD Mod 2 SC and added this service model to the collection. For me, the ergonomics of "grip zone" fits my hand perfect. I regularly shoot 300-500 rounds in a single session so comfort for me is very important. I ran roughly 400 rounds of different types of ammo in under an hour. This included: FED aluminum case, WIN steel case, WWB 115gr, WIN hp 115grn, WIN Nato 124gr, Fiocci hps (115 & 124 grn), Fiocci subsonic 158gr. The XD ate it all up with no malfunctions. I really like the tall, metal, suppressor height sights; i just wish they would have made a fiber optic with the same height up front. That would have made an all around perfect firearm for me. I only have one minor gripe - Shooting so much in quick succession lead to some hot spots on the firearm. The metal trigger in particular got so hot that I had to end my session a tad bit early. It was still shoot-able, just noticeably hot and uncomfortable to. I must note that not everyone will shoot so much in the allotted time. Regardless, I still prefer a metal trigger. Buds did a great job shipping; arrived in 3 or 4 days. This has become my favorite firearm.

Awesome product at a fantastic price. Owned a bunch of different brands in striker-fired universe, and these XD's (XD/XDM/XDs/XDmod2) are simply the most consistently well-made, easy-to-shoot well, reliable weapons I've ever fired. Nothing bad to say about Glock/M&P, however I now prefer XD name above the rest. Buds...per the usual, delivers good value when compared to my local options.
