nice for the price had trouble with Tula slugs primer to hard maybe? Have not tried much ammo. Saved this rifle for bp loaded shells. It is cheap enough.

No trouble with Bud’s, fast and convenient as is expected. The Hatfield is a good product for the price. Break it in and have fun! Can’t beat it for the money.

It's quite a handsome gun. I enjoy the simplicity. The barrel seems slightly off, imagine you're looking down the gun towards the bead, normally the bead should be at 12-o-clock, this guns bead is at 11:50. I test shot it the week I bought it, 00 buck shot at 25 and 50 yards was perfect in terms of windage and hit about 3 inches low at 50. I have no complaints about the slight irregularity considering the gun shoots straight and does its job. Makes for a great hunting gun. Not sure why everyone complains about the recoil, it's stiff but manageable, I'd recommend shooting it before buying a recoil pad, I definitely won't be adding a pad.

For 115$ this is a gun you can beat up, learn on, or "bubba" and not feel bad if you damage it (which is a challenge in it of its self). It's about 7 pounds and a bit long and narrow making it feel like a pipe with a firing pin. Don't let that fool you though, in spite of cheap parts its sturdy and will do its job and launch anything in it down range. In a way It feels like the Mosin-nagant equivalent of a shotguns. One of its best features becides unexpected durability is that it also folds almost flat on itself making it great for someone who is limited on space. I run almost exclusively birdshot in it and it's very manageable but with high brass it has a kick. The lack of padding can get tough on the sholder but for 115$ you can now spend the money you saved on a new limb saver. I love this gun and I plan on getting the 410 version some time in the future.
