I haven't shot her yet, but she is soooooo light compared to the non lightweight version. Looks so beefy, yet not too heavy. This is a very interesting pistol that I have wanted for quite awhile. I hear negative things about reliability, but I'm thinking that some of that is ammo and much of it is operator error. You need a proper stance and grip with this thing or it will not go back into battery. It is NOT a revolver, just a revolver round. She looks great and all I've done to her was add new XS Sights for better target acquisition. Hopefully I will get getting different barrels for more variety soon. Thanks to Buds for being so great with shipping. Very prompt and easy. Now I just have to shoot my Deagle and hopefully that will be a positive event.

Buds guns was Great to deal with. The Desert Eagle 44 Mag. I reload and after a few different loads I have found one that works for me. Please read the instructions that come with the weapon and I am sure you will have fun.

I have been waiting to review this pistol for some time. I have seen many reviews saying it jams or miss feeds. So what I found is that when very wet it’s cycles fine now issue for about 16 rounds; but as the oil dissipates problems start. In my case the is that the slide doesn’t move all the way forward, requiring the shooter to seat it. I only have 68 rounds though so I am hoping it will improve as it gets broken in. Overall I love this pistol! It is just so much fun. Would have given it 5 stars if it didn’t have the slide problem.

I bought this gun for protection when hiking in the mountains mostly from bears. I often hike by myself with my dog and usually on a week day.
The first time out at the range it would not cycle out of 50 rounds it jammed probably 12 times. The next time out I shot another 75 rounds and the gun jammed and wouldn't cycle. This time when it jammed the slide wouldn't pull back to eject the round the hammer was cocked I didn't know if there was a round chambered or not. This was a bad feeling and very scary didn't know what to do. I field striped it and was able to remove the barrel and yes there was a round chambered. Put the gun back in my truck in pieces and went home. Took it all apart and cleaned it very well every little piece. I watched several videos before even shooting it the first time as to how to hold the gun and use your wrest to absorb the recoil and lock your elbow so the gun will cycle. The last time out went through 45 rounds and not a problem with it maybe starting to break in some but I can't hit anything with it even at 20 feet away this might be cycological don't know the jury is still out. I don't trust this gun to take out in the forest for protection if and when you need it. What are you supposed to do if a bear came at you and you miss the first shot and the gun jammed tell the bear to wait a minute......no you're done.

GREAT Handgun! I like the reduced weight and the 5" Barrel. I bought the 44 Magnum and will probably buy a 50AE Conversion Kit when it is available. I prefer 44 over 50 because the cost of the ammo is cheaper. Almost half. Also, I can control 44 Magnum better. I lubricated everything and put a little grease on the slide rails and my gun worked flawlessly. Recoil is much less in the Desert Eagle than in my Smith and Wesson 629 Revolver. Usually I get blisters on my thumb. With the Desert Eagle I can shoot it comfortably without wearing gloves. The only reason I bought this gun is because I wanted it. Not because I needed it. I just got my Desert Eagle L5 .44 magnum and all I can say is it is AWESOME. The weight is definitely alot more manageable than the earlier versions. Buds gun shop delivered it faster than I could have blinked an eye to the FFL. Thank you Bud. I am one SUPER HAPPY CUSTOMER.

Bud’s was great as usual. However, the gun itself was a disaster. I could not get more than 1 shot without having to rack the slide. It does not load properly, it jams after every other shot. The range pro also tried it, and he was also unable to get 2 shots without the thing jamming. I sent it right back to Magnum Research. Very disappointing gun. Bud’s guns gets a five star rating as usual, the gun gets a 1 because there is no 0.
