This was one of my first purchases from Buds and everything went very smoothly. The CZ 28 gauge looked better in person then the web site and this shotgun has worked great and I haven't had any issues with it.

I ordered this shotgun in 28ga and when it arrived, the only issue was the chamber was sticky as extraction was hard.
A quick chamber buff with steel wool and the gun works great. Worth a look at.
Bud's gun shop has to be the best company I have dealt with in years.

Thanks for the opportunity to comment! First, I purchased the firearm for a friend who had me purchase the weapon for his wife due to the low recoil from a 28 GA. Next, I have seen approximately 4,000 weapons through my shop in the last 10 years or so and the CZ 628 is impressive. The wood and finish is good and the wood to metal fit is great. I would prefer a steel receiver but this alloy receiver has an advantage with less weight and will be easier for his wife. The metal finish and bluing is great and for the price it is an exceptional weapon. Jerry

It feels a little heaver than it's listed weight. It is set up for right handed shooters which I am, I say this because the stock has a nice cut out for the right palm to nestle into but the left side has no indentation. I prefer the safety to be like that on the Mossberg 500. I can see from dry firing that the fingers on the forearm when pulled back to extract the spent shell could interfere with the shell ejection, but I have been able to keep them low enough to not interfere. I have read several external reviews that express concern over the length of pull but for whatever reason it has not been an issued for me. It does feel well built and a little tight, I tend to prefer lose action in a pump, but I assume it will loosen with usage. I have not yet had a chance to shoot but I have high expectations for this gauge. I am anxious to see how I respond to the felt recoil.

Came scratched on the receiver. Wood is not figured much at all. Guess you get what you pay for. I expected more from CZ.

28 gauge pumps are not thick on the ground. I had sworn not to get another pump (shot 28 gauge BPS for a couple of years) after I realized what might happen with a hang fire (do not believe the "inertia block" designs). But the price was right, and I trust CZ to get the Turks to make a good gun. I did not pay attention to the absence of drop shims. Sure enough, too little drop at the heel and the comb is excessively raised. There was interference with ear muffs, and even knocking the muffs up did not keep me and my shooting partner from shooting over the clays. But it operated and balanced well, so I e-mailed CZ-USA about shims. They used to reply to me. Not this time (a lawyer rule?). So I decided to fabricate my own drop shim. Popped the butt plate and__found a non-standard stock bolt. No idea how to loosen it (and I have removed stocks from many shotguns). So I sold it. No regrets. By the by. the ported barrel increases noise to the shooter. I doubt that it has any positive effect.

This is a very handsome firearm! It is very light. Was pleased that it came with a skeet choke. This is a lot of gun for the price. Happy with my purchase and the prompt delivery from Bud's.
