Very nice little rifle. I should have read the advertisement better because I thought this was the heavy barrel version. It's not. It's the sporter contour. It's accurate and carries easily.

Just a heads up that if you purchase this gun, you may receive a gun with or without sights. Savage sells a MKIIF and a MKIIFNS (no sights) both being sold under SKU 26702. When I purchased this gun it was listed as a MKIIF which means with sights. So I assumed that the correct part number was listed as that is always what you are told to verify. I went to Savage website and put in Model (MKIIF) and also tried SKU number (26702) and both ways show it with sights. So don't assume you will get one with or without sights as it seems both are sold as (26702) and no one verifies the actual Model that the box says. I accepted it because of the difficulty to get one but it is not what I bought. Just keep this in mind if you want a specific one.

First off, this gun does come with pre installed weaver bases! No open sights. Luckily that is what I wanted. The fit and finish is terrible as expected for a 300.00 rimfire. The bolt takes a while to break in and reach a tolerable level of smoothness. Now for the performance and accuracy. Out of 50 rounds, the rifle failed to extract 4 times which is a known issue with these guns. There is a simple fix on youtube that I performed and seems to have fixed the issue. The accuracy is unmatched. That's right. I would put this little rifle up against ruger and tikka all day long for accuracy! 100 yards I can cover 10 rounds with a quarter! I bought this gun knowing its faults and expecting amazing accuracy. It has not disappointed me yet. If your on the fence about buying this...do it! You will be happy!

So far so good. With the HM2 ammo available again I pulled the trigger on this. Exactly as expected its a shooter as with most of the savage mkii line it could use a stock upgrade from the cheap feeling synethic other then that im completely satisfied.

This is a great little gun. I can easily touch what I need too at 300yds. This model has the blued barrel which is needed if you want to thread it for a suppressor like I plan on doing. You can buy 2k rounds for about 250 dollars it is a great bargain to shoot. I bought this for my 8yr old son to learn on but I like it more than he does lol. It is very safe for kids with the accue view trigger . I give it 5 stars and buds was great they sipped very fast and no problems at all.
