This FN 15 M4 Military Collector Edition is awesome to me. Based on YouTube and other reviews by AR purists, this is not the latest and greatest in AR design and development. I dont think that was FN’s intent with this model. What it to me is a homecoming. I carried the Colt M16 GAU for several years in a lot of different places. The profile reminding me immediately of my old GAU. Compared to the GAU of the 70’s and 80’s, this is very advanced from the version I carried. The handling is simple and reliable. It runs and runs. With sufficient ability for future modifications. But for now, it is perfect for me.

As close to GI as you can get minus the full auto. I plan to keep this one in its preservative plastic bag since I have several AR's and I bought this one more as a collectors item.

Fast shipping...even with the crazy viral chaos, Buds still came through...six days from placing order to in my hands...awesome. The FN M4 fit and finish is excellent, and overall is comparable to the Colt M4A1 SOCOM (that I also purchased from Buds a while back). These FNs are starting to get harder to find and probably won't be long before they are also gone. FN makes arguably much finer, longer lasting barrels than Colt...but to each their own.

I considered a 4 star review just because of the price, but when adding up the quality of the parts, it's a bit easier to justify the cost. For context, I have about 1500 rounds through the rifle with zero malfunctions. The Knight's Armament quad rails are awesome and heavy duty, albeit a little heavy. The barrel is fantastic and holds up to heat pretty well, no complaints there. The Matech rear sight is awesome and is distance adjustable. The trigger is your standard mil-spec trigger. It has a fairly heavy trigger pull but a nice crisp break and a good reset. Not exactly a competition trigger, but I intended this rifle as a duty/utility rifle so it fits my needs pretty well. The vertical grip that it comes with is decent, but not quite as ergonomical as a hand-stop. I chose to remove the rail covers because, although aesthetically pleasing, they tend to slide around a bit while shooting and make the foregrip a little too large for my personal taste. If you're a collector and want it for authenticity, it's a good choice because it almost perfectly matches the service rifles I've been issued. However, this item is not for you if you intend to suppress it, as it has a pinned/welded flash suppressor which cannot be removed.

This the one. The closest mil-spec AR you can get. It's expensive but when you add up the cost of the accessories you'll see it's a good deal.

This is a high quality Fn M4A1 carbine. It has SAFE , SEMI , and AUTO marked on the lower but obviously cannot be switched to auto. The M4A1 carbine are marked as Auto. The M4 carbines are marked as Burst. I have 3000 rounds through mine with 0 issues. I've ran it through almost 8 hours of carbine classes and she held up. Fit and finish is awesome.

This FN15 collectors edition surprised me. This is a great rifle and yes it comes with a Socom barrel. I don't understand why Colt discontinued their 6920 Socom rifle, it is a very foolish decision. I say give the FNH a chance, you will not be disappointed.
