I use to shoot my Beretta Silver Pigeon Sporting I with 30" barrels in 12 gauge, with 7/8 oz, 1200 fps reloads, this shotgun recoils mostly the same with Winchesters 3/4 oz, 1300 fps new shells, very little, even without a thick but-pad. The finish and apparent quality is very high and got lots of complements from my fellow shooters, and one after looking closer at the details asked if the gun cost $3,000.00, is how good it looks and feels. Unfortunately, my range lacks a pattern board and shoot to the sand bank behind the trap house and both barrels apparently shoots at the same spot, but a bit low for me and will be adding a gel comb from Beretta, otherwise it fits me well. Yesterday I shoot 4 Trap rounds, and I couldn't be happier. If you shoot any kind of sports with this gun, I will suggest using a glove for your forward hand as the fore grip is slim and narrow and the barrels gets hot beyond being uncomfortable for me. The case is just adequate, it's made for a bigger gun, the shotgun was well padded during shipping from Buds, but after taking out the packaging materials (bubble-wrap), the shotgun moves inside it and I padded it with foam, but I think I'm going to replace this case.

28ga. I purchased it primarily as a quail gun. This is a beautiful firearm, and shoulders like a dream. It seemed as though I only had to look at a bird trying to escape through the pines and down it went. As an aside, it is a really fun sporting clay/skeet option. Fit and finish are superb. Stock is nothing fancy, but I am a function over form kind of guy. Received high marks from my sporting/shooting companions - many of whom has guns of much higher cost. I liked it so much I immediately ordered a .410 bore. I cannot recommend this weapon highly enough. If you are an upland bird hunter (or even if you are not - but why else would you want a .28?), this is the best double for the money - bar none.
