Will this RIA take any grips for a .45 or are they smaller than a full size pistol?

Gary, they are smaller. This will take any compact size 1911 grips. The grips that come on this though are polymer wrapped in rubber and very comfortable. Hope this helps.

What's the big differences in the Rock Standard CS and Rock Ultra CS? Can the sights and grips be changed on the standard CS?

the ultra cs has a fiber front with adj rear and g10 grips The standard uses Novack style fixed sights

Is the feed ramp part of the barrel, or part of the frame?

Not finding anywhere that states this so for a definite answer you would have to contact armscor at (775) 537-1444 or email them at support@armscor.com. I'm almost positive it has a ramped barrel but better to be safe than sorry especially when firearms are so expensive. Hope this helps.

This has Blacked Out Novak Sights, if you dont like them theyre Novak cut so easily changed and plenty of options. I own the full sized version and great pistol. Hope this helps.

rock island 45 officer awsome lookin good this gun is super tight nice finish shot a few hundred rounds threw it having a little bit of failure to feed but it’s getting better the gun is super tight so it needs a little more ammo threw it would buy again

I have a full size Rock Island that I’m happy with and I was wanting a compact so I figured I would try this one. Haven’t had any problems though 200 rounds. Wish it would come with at least 2 mags. Would recommend to anyone looking for a compact 1911.

This is my second purchase of a Rock Island Armory compact. 45. I foolishly traded my first on another pistol and when I saw that they were back in stock, I immediately ordered one. The only issue that I have had with this pistol is that it ejects spent cases into my face and forehead. I am currently in the process of obtaining warranty service from Armscor to fix the problem. Other than the weird case ejection angle, I have had no problems. Accuracy and reliability hold up with my RIA full-size GI 1911. I am giving it 4 stars at this time because I have yet to see if Armscor warranty service fixes the ejection issue.
