Minor gripe with my .40 handloaded ammo, 180 gr. I like 925/950 FPS which does not reliably cycle the slide. Gun likes full power 180's at 980/ 1,000 FPS. Tried several powders & no luck under 950 . Other than that i'll give it 4 stars.

Received my purchase the other day. Very happy with the fit and finish. I am pleased overall, and truly appreciate the fact that this came in .40 S&W giving me more flexibility in ammo use. Thanks to Bud’s for a streamlined purchase as always. Looking forward to lots of shooting fun.

My first 1911, already put 100 rounds through it, love the smooth action and very little recoil. This is a awesome weapon and highly recommended it. It won't be my last 1911. Thanks Buds..great service!!

Much better than expected. Bought this pistol because it came chambered in 40 s&w. Turns out I can send it back to the factory & have a 10mm barrel fitted for it and still under warranty. Definitely recommend this pistol.

Shipped my pistol same day and received in 3 days. Was notified when it arrived at my FFL for pickup. Have already shot over 700 rounds thru the Rock and really like the pistol. My next gun purchase will definitely be from Buds.

The fit and finish is excellent , the g10 style grips fit well in my hands . The red fiber optic front sight is dull. I am going to change it to a green fiber tube . Have shot a hundred rounds with no problems. A big thanks to buds for great service .

Process was quick and easy. This pistol has the smoothest action. The triger is crisp and feels better than my xdm .45. Shoots just as good as it feels in your hand. This is my first 1911 so I am not used to rhe safety yet and noticed it is easy accidently put the safty on while trying to fire. After shooting this 1911 I have no doubt there are more in my future.

Absolutely love this gun, I have 2 other 40 caliber guns a Ruger SR40c and a S&W SVE40 both are nice shooting guns, but the Rock Island tops them both. This gun is very well balanced with it's 5" barrel I changed out the grips to an ivory with the don't tread on me symbol. The gun looks amazing with these grips. Some people don't like the 40 caliber they claim it's a snappy round, well when shooting this gun you would never know. Buds makes it so easy to buy my favorite guns. Since I am retired and living on a fixed income Bud's makes it easy for me to still get the guns I want with there 90 day layaway plan. To date I have bought and received 3 guns so far with 2 on layaway not a single issue with any I actually never thought I would buy a gun on line but now I am hooked. Prices are awesome cheaper then any shop I have dealt with so far. Guns are shipped to my FFL in a matter of days last gun the Rock Island Ultra FS 40 in 3 days. To date I have put 500 rounds through this gun and its becoming my favorite 1911. Cannot say enough good things about Bud's Gun Shop if your on the fence about buying this way think again you will not be disappointed. Grips are very comfortable. Has nice weight to it with little muzzle flip and recoil. Makes it very enjoyable to shoot
