This is an excellent firearm. It feels solid, reliable, and well-built, with the classic ergonomics and accuracy that make the 1911 platform so trusted. The trigger is crisp, the recoil is very manageable, and the overall performance shows great craftsmanship. As with most quality firearms, you can feel the precision in every shot and the durability in its construction. Shipping was very fast, which I really appreciated. The only thing I would have liked is for it to come with at least one additional magazine.

I thank Buds gun shop for a very quick delivery. I love the reliability of the 1911 models and this one did not disappoint me at all. Right out of the box this ria pistol ate everything it was fed and pretty accurate. Never missed the target. It’s very comfortable and if you have big hands this is an awsome fit. Thank you very much To Buds gun shop. This 1911 has a double stack 1911 and I love it, always had 45s but love this in the 9 mm. This will be my to go gun from here on out 😻

Not a bad pistol. But the grip was a little to squared and not very comftorable. If they would of rounded the edges on the grip it would be easy 4 stars.

Excellent purchase. No, it's not a Stacatto, but I do like it more than my previous Prodigy. The weight is a bit jarring at first, but it helps to soak up recoil. I haven't had any reliability issues which is the exact opposite of my Prodigy experience. To be fair, the Prodigy did come with a slightly lower trigger pull weight and does have a bull barrel, but even with those advantages, the Tac Ultra is a better buy in my opinion.

For the money this is a great entry into the 2011 realm. If I had it to do over again I might move up to the Springfield Prodigy as the Rock Island had a few small issues I had to work thru such as, they sent the wrong magazines with the gun. They sent the ones that are for the.22 model which meant I had to machine down the leading edge of the magazine to get it to seat all the way and hold the slide open on the final round. Not necessarily the gun that was the issue but the attention to detail leaves ya wondering. The gun shoots straight as a laser and the recoil is exactly what you'd expect from a big heavy 2011 which is to say almost nil. Overall, pleased but they (Rock Island) has room for improvement.

I just received this handgun and my initial reaction was, this is a heavy gun Barring the weight, it is a solid gun. I’ve owned several other Hi Cap 1911 style handgun but this one is definitely the heaviest I’ve owned. It came in soaked in oil but that didn’t faze me one bit. Just get a rag and wipe it down. I haven’t had a chance to fire it yet but by the looks and weight of it, I think it’ll be one that stays with me for a long haul. For the money, this RIA has true value. I would not recommend it for an EDC, only because of the weight issue. As for using it in competition mode, I think it will hold its own. BTW, shipping to my part of the world was FAST. Bud’s is a definite place to get your firearms. Thanks for the fast service Bud’s. Hmmmmm…..what do I want to get next???
