  Roy, this laser is activated by a left/right button near the front of the housing that is accessible easily with your index finger. It has a on solid and on strobe mode. It is demoed here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIqGaId8Ssc

  No. Unfortunately, the unit is not waterproof, although the manufacturer does describe it as being “water resistant.”
